MAP02: Valley of the Damned is the second map of Doom 2's Consumed Earth. It was designed by Walter Confalonieri (daimon) and uses the music track "Opening to Hell" by Robert Prince.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Go straight forward into a tunnel with shotgun guys, which will lead you to a brick ruin at the north end of a valley, then drop into the lava river on the east side of the valley and collect the radiation shielding suit inside it. Follow the river north to a step with an imp, then climb up the steps here to find a couple of shotgun guys defending the blue skull key; watch out for the crusher above the key, as well as the arch-vile that is waiting behind the wooden barrier in this room.

Enter the teleporter behind the barrier to return to the valley, then go to the blue bars at the south end of the valley and open them to find another teleporter, which goes to a red cavern. Go north and push past a couple of lost souls to find a computer area map, which will lower a set of bars at the cavern entrance, then go back to the top of the steps to deal with a Hell knight before heading west to get back outside. Go north to a ledge overlooking the starting point, then press the eye switch here to lower a teleporter behind you which goes to the brick ruins. Use the crates to climb up to the south-east wall of the ruins, then run north-east to land on the ledge with the exit sign, then enter the nearby tunnel and follow it until you can run through a window, where the level will end.
