MAP03 is the third map of Equinox. It was designed by Bernard De Windt (B.P.R.D) and uses the music track "".

Walkthrough[edit]

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

At the start of the level, go down the brightly lit path. Enter the door next to the scrolling text reading "Restricted Area!". You will enter a large cave area on the top of a tall cliff. Descend to the bottom and go to your left.

You will enter a room with three doors. Open the middle one. This leads to an area containing a tall lift. To the lift's right is a switch to activate it. Go on it and ride it to the top.

Go through the tight hallway. At the end is a room with a round light and an entrance to a dark maze. Enter it.

From the start of the maze, the simplest path out is go forward at the first two intersections, then right at the third and fourth. At the end, drop down. You are now at the other side of the cliff.

Go left, and enter the small crevice containing a Hell knight. Enter the door and go up the stairs. At the top there is a switch. Flip it and go back through the door you entered and out of the crevice.

Go forward and up the stairs. Enter the room at the top and activate the door at the end to exit the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. After going through the vent maze, you should end up on the other side of the valley. Head south back to the valley and drop down two rock levels, then go to the eastern side. There will be a teleporter buried under the rocks here. Take it to appear in a small room with a megasphere. (sector 7)
  2. Come back to the other side of the valley mentioned in secret #1. The eastern door (it will be straight ahead of you when you come out of the vent maze) is slightly open revealing a room with a bright floor, but you cannot enter it just yet. Go around to the north side of this room and press "use" on the northwest corner from the outside to open the way in, where you will find a bunch of chaingunners, a megaarmor, a computer area map, and some health and armor bonuses.
