Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. Climb the steps at the east side, then head west and north. Shoot the north UAC wall, then head back to the steps, then north to a room with energy cells and a soul sphere. (sector 346)
  2. At the entrance to the large hangar, go to the north end and flip the switch to open the northeast door. Take the teleporter to get shotgun shells, two backpacks, and a megaarmor. (sector 573)
  3. In the room with the teleporter leading back to the start, flip the switch west of the teleporter and go to the west door. Beyond that door, head through to another door to an area with ammo. Down the road, you will find stimpacks and a green armor. The tops of the crates in this area are inaccessible secrets. (sector 560)
  4. See secret #3. (sector 732)
  5. See secret #3. (sector 733)
  6. See secret #3. (sector 734)

Bugs[edit]

Though the text file included in the Vae Victus release states it is for limit-removing source ports, it is specifically designed for ZDoom and the game mechanic alterations this port applies by default. There are some issues when playing on other limit-removing engines, such as Doom 1.9 emulation in DSDA-Doom.

  • The blue door has an invisible use-blocking trigger placed 16 units in front of it. Since even standing completely flush against the door with squeeze glide precision is not sufficient to surpass the trigger line, this makes the level unplayable unless playing in ZDoom or another source port that has supports use passing through such lines. This can be enabled for casual play in DSDA-Doom by enabling the option "Use passes thru all special lines".
  • The door to the south-west piston room similarly has a use-blocking trigger placed in front of it. It is spaced 32 units away from the door, noticeably blocking some use presses but giving enough room for the player to get closer to the door and open it.
  • In Doom 1.9 emulation, entering the piston room will cause the health and armor bonuses lining the sides of the room to snap up on top of the unreachable watching platforms also on the sides of the room. Fortunately, due to the thing flickering glitch, walking under the items will snap them down and collect them regardless.

In the north, it is possible to arch-vile jump over the north wall and get stuck.

The tops of the boxes in secret #3 are inaccessible and mistakenly marked as secret sectors, making it impossible to get a 100% secrets score on this level.

A multiplayer-only shotgun (thing 425) has no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, so it does not actually appear in the level.
