MAP04: Confinement Point is the fourth map of Plutonia 1024: The Plutinya Experiment. It was designed by Roberto Lopez (Gothic) and uses the music track "Into Sandy's City," created by Robert Prince for Doom II. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 2:00.

Kill the zombiemen and/or shotgun guys guarding the shotgun in front of you, then turn left and go round the corner to confront three more zombies along with some demons. Follow the stone path south to find two or three imps guarding a satyr switch and press it - you will see the blue keycard lower through a window on your right - then kill one or two revenants that teleport in before going back outside to collect the blue key, which is sitting in a water pool. Go back to where you found the shotgun and walk east to a blue key door, open it to confront a cacodemon then take the chaingun behind it before walking up some marble steps. Kill one or two Hell knights waiting at the top then follow the gray path north past some chaingunners to a super shotgun which is protected by imps and a revenant; after killing them, walk west to get the red keycard.

Go back to where you found the shotgun and open the red key door here; watch out for cacodemons and imps/mancubi waiting outside, along with two shotgun guys (or chaingunners on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels) that are revealed to your left and right when you go down the steps. Walk east to a satyr switch and push it, then go back through the blue key door to find that a wall has lowered, revealing the yellow keycard. Kill a knight (or arch-vile on UV and NM) that has teleported in to protect the key, take it then go back through the red key door; turn left and follow the path round to an exit door, where two waiting chaingunners (or an arch-vile on UV and NM) are guarding the exit teleporter.

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. Open the blue key door and head up the steps. Face north as you do and shoot through the evil eye. You should hear something open. When this happens, head to the west corridor and at the south end, you can find a rocket launcher, a box of rockets and a medikit. (sector 103)
  2. In the outside area at the north end, use the switch platform at the east side to go over the wall with the floor lamps nearby. At the bottom, use the switch and take the teleporter. You will get a supercharge, a backpack and a box of rockets. (sector 151) Approaching the items will cause bars to rise around the teleporter pad, and a baron of Hell (or arch-vile on UV and NM) will appear there; hold it off while you wait for the bars to lower.
