Walkthrough[edit]

Map of Cursed Cellars
Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

At the start, face right and go through the left opening. Climb up the stairs and follow the hallway, take a left once you see the chaingun and go straight ahead until you reach a room with a lit satyr face on a pillar. Go around the pillar to find the blue key. Backtrack, climb up the stairs and you should spot a blue door. Open it and press the switch inside to raise a bridge nearby leading into a fireplace. Enter the fireplace to be teleported to the red key alcove. Drop down and go up the staircase to your right to arrive at the starting room where you'll find the red door. Enter it, go through the lava and open the last door: the exit portal is inside.

Secrets[edit]

Official[edit]

  1. In the dark alleyway at the north end of the map where you will find the plasma gun at the end of it, open the part of the eastern wall with a candle in front of it (it's near the plasma gun) to reveal a teleporter. (sector 219)
  2. Take the teleporter from Secret #1 to end up in a tower with a megaarmor. (sector 148)
  3. At the southern end of the map, you can take two back alleyways to reach two rooms, both marked as secrets. The western room (sector 89) holds armor bonuses and ammo, while the eastern one has health bonuses instead of the armor ones.
  4. See Secret #3. (sector 95)

Non-official[edit]

Although not marked as a secret, it is possible to get over the wall where the cacodemons emerge from near Secret #1. This is best done by entering Secret #1 and utilizing an arch-vile jump. However, the closest arch-vile to this spot appears only on Ultra-Violence or higher after the blue key is retrieved. If you get over the wall, you will find a BFG9000, an energy cell pack, and a megasphere.

Bugs[edit]

It is not possible to reach the non-official secret on Hurt me plenty or lower, and the megasphere is flagged to appear on all difficulties, which makes 100% items impossible to obtain on these lower difficulties. The arch-viles that appear on these difficulties can not attack a player standing in secret #1 from the ending area, and can not be led to the courtyard because of monster-blocking lines.
