MAP04: The Stormdrain (in Vanilla ports, named simply "Stormdrain" without the article on the automap) is the fourth map of 1000 Line Community Project. It was designed by Ben Mansell (Bauul) and uses the music track "Astral Dreadnought" from MAP10: Cosmodrome of Plutonia 2.

Take the shotgun in front of you and dispose of one or two approaching demons, then press the gargoyle switch by the east wall to raise a set of steps behind you. Go up the steps and fight your way past some imps and zombies to reach the blue skull key, kill the shotgun guys that are revealed behind you then go back down the steps and drop into the water trench running through the middle of the courtyard. Open the blue key door on the west side and kill any demons and chaingunners waiting behind it (plus two imps or an arachnotron that are released behind you), then use the wooden lift on the north wall and ride it up to a chamber with another demon and some imps. Open the north door and follow the passage round to some zombiemen and imps who are guarding a gargoyle switch, which will lower a barrier blocking your way to the south side of the courtyard.

Backtrack to the water trench and use the steps on the east side to get back up to the north side of the courtyard, then run up the steps in the middle of the wall so that you leap over the trench and through the barrier you lowered earlier. Kill the imps and demons hiding on either side of the barrier (plus a revenant on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher) then head south towards a shotgun; approach it with caution as a variety of monsters are hiding behind the ledges on either side. From the shotgun, head west to a wooden lift and lower it to get on one of the ledges then head east to a gargoyle switch that will momentarily lower a platform you can see below. Step on this platform before it rises to reach a second gargoyle switch that will lower a lift behind you, which you can ride up to a ledge holding the red skull key.

Drop down to ground level and open the wall with red skull bars on the east side of the area; behind it is a gargoyle switch that will lower some red bars behind you, allowing you to drop into the water trench. Head up the steps in front of you and open the red key door on your right, push past a Hell knight and lower the lift behind it to reach a staircase leading down to a skull switch. Pressing the switch will lower you into a room with imps, demons, revenants and lost souls - step back to avoid being surrounded then kill all the enemies and press the gargoyle switch on the north wall, which will open the south door. Go through the door and follow the passage to a second door, behind which you will find imps and shotgun guys guarding a staircase down to the exit door. Open the door and kill one more imp, then press the skull switch to finish the level.

  1. Open the blue door and go west, then south to a wall with one or two chaingunners in front of it. Use the wall to find a computer area map and an armor. (sector 67)
  2. At the south end, take the south-west lift up. On this high ledge, run north-west into the water, then go to the end to find a berserk pack. (sector 39)
  3. Jump north from the red key platform onto the pedestal with the switch to the north, making sure you jump on the switch block and not next to it. Look to the east to spot a button to shoot. Shooting it reveals a switch nearby. Lower the red bars with the red key if you have not done so already, then press this switch. Run north, across the water and up the steps, then all the way west to a supercharge before it rises. (sector 85)
