Essentials[edit]

Take the shotgun and flip the switch in front of you to lower the floor, then step across to the metal platform in front of you to get a chaingun. Run to the opening in the south wall to enter a cave with a conveyor belt, then fight through to the south end of the cave and flip the switch here to reveal a revenant (it will teleport to the north end of the cave) and a second switch. Flip this second switch, then go back to the metal platform where some bars have opened to reveal chaingunners guarding an incinerator; ghouls will be released ahead when you pick it up. Run east to the next platform, then go north along another conveyor belt to the next cavern and climb the steps here to a gargoyle switch. Press the switch to open the east wall and reveal more ghouls along with a red door (which leads to the exit), then go through that wall to get outside. Head south until you reach a lava pool, climb the nearby stairs and kill some waiting chaingunners, then take the super shotgun and press the red button behind it to lower the wall behind you. Kill any imps and revenants that are released, then press the gargoyle switch at the north end of the cavern to lower the wall and clear a path to the yellow keycard.

From the yellow key, go north-east from the key to a set of steps and climb them, flip the locked switch in the neighboring room to open the wooden door and reveal one or more shocktroopers, then go through and head north and west across two sets of steps to another door. Go through to a yard with mancubi and imps and pass through a door at the north-west end, then go up the steps and flip the switch inside the imps' room to open a wall behind you. Go through this wall and kill the monsters waiting in the next room, then approach the door at the north end to automatically open it and reveal a mancubus guarding a switch. Flip the switch to open the metal block behind you, then collect the rocket launcher inside it to open the surrounding walls as well as four alcoves containing revenants. Flip the switch in the south-east alcove to open the nearby lift, ride it down to a lava cave then approach the switch in the center and defeat the shotgun guys (and mancubi on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher) that block your way before flipping it. Flipping the switch lowers the supercharge sitting on it, but also releases two vassagos (or a cyberdemon on HMP or higher) as well as ghouls and cacodemons at the south end of the room. Flip the skull lever behind the cacodemons, then go back outside and collect the blue keycard that has lowered at the west end of the yard.

Return to the bridge you opened using the yellow key and head east into the adjoining room, then go up the steps here and press the button on the computer console to open the opposite wall, revealing another switch. Flip this switch to raise the floor of the neighboring lava pit, then press the button next to the nearby bars to open them and go through. Flip the switch at the east end of the hall to open the south walls and release a large number of enemies, slay them using the incinerator then go to the south end of this room to find an eye switch, which will open the block behind you to reveal a spiderdemon guarding the red keycard. Taking the red key will open several closets around you containing mancubi and cacodemons (plus pain elementals on HMP or higher); kill them, go inside the north-east closet and press all the eye switches inside, then follow the conveyor belts on the west side of the room to get back outside. Go back to the red door and open it, then open another door ahead to find a revenant guarding the exit switch.

Other points of interest[edit]

On the platform with the super shotgun, press the switch to the north indicated by an arrow. A berserk pack will appear on the nearby conveyor belt and drop to the ground.

Secrets[edit]

  1. On the platform with the incinerator, look south to see an armor in an overhead opening. Run towards the opening to land on a narrow ledge underneath it, then carefully follow this ledge west until you step through a false wall and find steps going up to the armor. (sector 241)
  2. Head south and east from the red door to a moving platform and ride it up to a conveyor belt. As you step on the belt, you will see a switch appear in the red wall to the east. Shoot it before it closes, then ride the platform back down and walk west to an open compartment with a computer area map, a chainsaw, a fuel tank and a light amplification visor. (sector 515)
  3. In the northernmost room, open the wall in the north-west corner with the vertical bar to find an armor. (sector 517)
  4. In the north-east area, drop into the magma just south of the conveyor belt and look at the west wall to see that one part of it is translucent. Step through this wall to go up to a megaarmor. (sector 365)
