MAP05: Crimson Tide is the fifth map of the megawad Alien Vendetta. It was designed by Anders Johnsen and constructed with DETH. It uses the music track "The End of DOOM," the text screen music from Doom.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

A number of shotgun guys will see you at the start. Dispose of them and cross to the other side. There is a yellow door in front, but you do not have the key yet. You can either go north or south, though. Head south first, and go around and get the rocket launcher inside as well as the plasma gun outside. Inside there is also a switch. If you press it, it lowers a lift close to where you entered this outdoor area. Press it and quickly run to this lift before it rises. Head through the small room with shotgun guys and out again onto a balcony with imps. Go through a similar room and you should see an arch-vile and the blue skull key. Grabbing it triggers a revenant on the ground below. Take him out and drop down to the ground here, going back south to where the weapons were. Now get to the other side of the southern half of the building, with the blue bar on it. In this next room, the yellow key is straight ahead. When you grab it two revenants will pop up to ambush you. Now head back to the center of the building where the yellow door is and enter. Again, the red skull key will just be in front of you, and two heavy weapon dudes will ambush you when you pick it up. Get out of that room and head north down the path to a lift with a nearby switch. Use the switch to lower the lift, then ride it up. Here, the whole southern area is purely optional, but the northern hall has a red door which reveals the exit portal. Cross over, and be wary of a chaingunner should you linger on the platform.

Should you fall in the blood anytime, there is a teleporter on the eastern side of the building. There is also a radiation suit on the left side of the exit platform.

Secrets[edit]

  1. While facing the window the yellow skull key rests on, turn right 90 degrees. There is a very obvious square section of wall that is receded and has a different texture than the surrounding walls. Open it to gain access to a combat armor vest and a soul sphere. (sector 209)
