MAP05: Hand of Doom is the fifth map of The Darkening. It was designed by Jan Van der Veken and uses the music track "GloomKeep" by David Shaw (Tolwyn) from MAP24: Io Lab (Memento Mori II).

Secrets[edit]

  1. On the high ledge where all the imps are, look north through the cage to spot a hanging body. Shoot at the body to open the way to the nukage pit. Down here, press on the pentagram to receive a rocket launcher. (sector 28)
  2. On the same high ledge, carefully inch off the ledge but do not fall off. You will hear a door open, which is on the west wall. Go through the door to collect a soul sphere. (sector 77)
  3. At the southeastern hallway, go all the way to the end and a wall behind you opens revealing a Hell knight (or baron of Hell on Ultra-Violence or higher). Go towards the bars to the north to open them, then head back into the alcove behind the wall to find health bonuses and a teleporter. This will take you to the large nukage pit in the northern part of the map, where you can collect a box of shotgun shells and a super shotgun from the two lifts. (sector 192)
  4. The leftmost teleporter in the southwest part of the map can take you to the northwesternmost room on the map. From the teleporter you came out of, open the western wall (behind you after you teleport) to get a berserk pack. (sector 250)
