MAP05: The Rescue is the fifth map of The Invaders. It was designed by Dominique Lavergne and uses the music track "".

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. The small alcove in the south of the level containing a switch which opens up access to the area east of the yellow door counts as a secret and is impossible to miss. (sector 189)
  2. The red key area is opened by walking over a linedef at the top of a lift in a water room. This room has a secret wall, which lowers on pressing, on its south wall (at the bottom of the lift) leading to an imp, a box of shotgun shells, and a switch. Both the door and the room itself count as secrets. (sector 46)

  4. From the room south of the blue door, head east and take the middle of the three paths ahead of you. You will reach a grassy area whose northern wall lowers on pressing, revealing two imps (easy and medium skills) or a cacodemon (hard skill), a box of shotgun shells (easy skill) or a box of bullets (medium and hard skills), a stimpack (easy and medium skills) or a medikit (hard skill), and a switch which allows access to the nearby platform with a super shotgun, a backpack (hard skill only), 12 shotgun shells, and 0-2 medikits.   5. The switch in #3 opens up a secret area south of the switch which opens up the blue key area containing an imp, a medikit, a box of bullets, 4 shotgun shells, a box of shotgun shells, and either an armor (easy and medium skills) or a megaarmor (hard skill). There are two secrets here. (sector 61)

  7. There is a secret wall to the south of the yellow key room which lowers on pressing, revealing a switch which reveals a door on the north wall of this room, leading to three heavy weapon dudes (two on easy skill), three medikits (easy skill), a soul sphere (medium skill), or a megasphere (hard skill), a box of rockets (easy and medium skills) or an energy cell pack (hard skill), and a backpack (hard skill only). (sector 383)
  8. Approaching the switch which lowers the wall leading to the exit room also opens up a room to the south of the outdoor area near the exit. Near the south-eastern medikit in this room is a wall to the south which lowers on pressing, revealing a room with three imps (two on easy skill), a medikit, 4 shotgun shells, and a switch. The switch opens up a nearby door, revealing an area with items including a plasma rifle and possibly a soul sphere (medium skill) or a megasphere (hard skill). (sector 373)
