MAP06: E1M6: Patina is the sixth map of The Magenta Spire. It was designed by Cole Bryden (thelamp) and uses the music track "Melting," originally composed by Jeremy Doyle for Icarus: Alien Vanguard.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the first big area, go to the skull switch you saw when you entered the area and press it. Quickly run north to the platform with the super shotgun and hug the wall as it rises so that you get the super shotgun. (sector 359)
  2. When you enter the central area, stay on the highest ledge and go to the east side. Head through to the next room and the east side is the secret. (sector 263)
  3. Press on the east wall in Secret #2 to lower to a rocket launcher and rockets. (sector 1207)
  4. On the northwest ledge of the central area, drop into the water behind the ledge and head southwest to get boxes of rockets. (sector 194)
  5. On the northeast ledge of the central area, head up the green rocks to the north and look for an eye switch further north. Shoot it, then drop into the water below and enter the small cave nearby to get a megaarmor. (sector 330)
  6. When you enter the east area of the map, head southeast to a switch, then go behind the switch onto the ledge and to the west you can find a soul sphere. (sector 786)
  7. Head further southeast from the previous secret. At the bottom, get rid of the dead pain elementals to the southeast and shoot the wall behind them to get a green armor, a box of shotgun shells, a super shotgun, and a friendly marine. (sector 1333)
  8. Head to the hall north of the east side and open the bright wall to the left to find energy cell packs. (sector 1127)
  9. After you get the yellow key, return north and head west. Follow the trail of armor bonuses going south until you can slightly see a dead pain elemental through the north wall. Shoot it to get rid of it and enter the alcove to get a cursed BFG9000. (sector 1022)
  10. In the valley at the west side, make your way to the ledges at the south end. As you head west, look for a wall with brown vines to the south. Go to that wall and press it to reveal a passage through the water. Take this passage all the way to the east, which will have an invulnerability (only on Ultra-Violet or higher). (sector 1161)
