MAP06: MAP15 - Coolant Zone is the sixth map of Switcheroom 2. It was designed by Magnusblitz and uses the music track "Trigger" by Mr. Freeze and Brendan Bradley (Bucket), taken from the Plutonia MIDI Pack. It is based on the layout of MAP15: Industrial Zone.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

This level is divided into two areas: the northern indoor area which consists of five buildings, and the southern outdoor area which consists of three buildings. You begin at the north end of the map.

Go through the door on your left and drop into the northern area, then follow the corridor west and south until you get to the south-west building. Flip the switch next to the angled door to open it, go inside the building and climb three flights of steps to reach the top of the structure, then run west to reach a ledge with two teleporters. Enter the southern (left-hand) teleporter to go to a nearby ledge, then run straight forward to land on a second ledge with a button, which will lower a wall inside the northern building. Go inside that building using the doorway on its north side, flip the switch here to lower a lift then drop to the floor below and kill all the waiting zombies. Enter the teleporter in the south-east corner to go to the crate holding the red keycard.

Leave the building and go to the dividing wall in the center of the map, then go through any of the doors in it to reach the southern half of the map. Cross the bridge leading to the center building and activate the lift on the other side, then open the red door at the top to see the yellow keycard; taking it will release zombiemen and shotgun guys around you. Go back outside and continue to the south-west building, enter it and kill all the monsters instead, then walk through the opening in the south wall to drop into some nukage. Walk east to a switch and flip it to lower a lift behind you, ride the lift up and follow the vent round a corner, then enter the opening on your right to drop to a ledge with another switch. Flip this switch to raise a bridge by the entrance door, then head across that bridge to another switch and press it to open the alcove below holding the blue keycard.

Go back outside and head to the south-east building, enter it and walk through the doorway in front of you; the wall ahead will lower to reveal an imp and shotgun guy. Climb the stairs behind the monsters and follow the passage south to another staircase, go up it and continue west to the exit door. Open the door and kill one or two revenants waiting behind it, then enter the room to find the exit switch.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Leave the north-west building, then re-enter it and use the north-east lift to get to the north switch. This lowers the chaingun and box of bullets. (sector 50)
  2. Drop east of the red key to get a berserk pack. (sector 208)
  3. At the north half, take the lift to a red door and open it. Head east, then look west to see a button on the wall. Shoot it, head south, then drop to the east. Head south to get a backpack. (sector 498)
  4. Go north from secret #3 and take the lift up to a rocket launcher. (sector 86)
  5. In the south-west building, enter the vent shaft and head all the way north to a supercharge. (sector 243)
  6. In the south-east building, climb up two sets of steps and run south when you can. Quickly turn around and run back north, then north into a dark room that has an armor. (sector 316)
  7. In the south-east building, climb up two sets of steps and run south, then go to the east ledge. Look north and shoot the switch to reveal a teleporter. Run and jump to it to teleport to a super shotgun. (sector 204)
