MAP07: Dead In, Dead Out is the seventh map of Claustrophobia 1024. It was designed by Brett Harrell (Mechadon), and uses the music track "Here It Comes" by Josh Simpson (EarthQuake).

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.


The spawn is located in the northwestern pit. The map progresses in a similar fashion to Doom II's Dead Simple, requiring all enemies to be killed to progress. Once the first wave of mancubi, zombiemen, chaingunners, barons, and pinkies is killed, arachnotrons will spawn in the places of the mancubi and once killed will raise stairs in the smaller rooms in the southwest and northeast, which contain two switches. Triggering them will spawn a wave of cacodemons, pain elementals, arch-viles, and other fodder monsters. Once all are killed, a teleporter in the center of the map will open, ending the map.

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. In the building at the northeast of the level, the face on the northern panel is that of a gargoyle instead of a satyr. Press it, and the panel will open to reveal another face, while a megasphere will appear beneath your feet. (sector 1018) If you are playing with a ZDoom-based source port, you must open the panel first, and then press the face behind it to get the megasphere.
