MAP07: Suspenders at Dusk (32in24-5)

MAP07: Suspenders at Dusk is the seventh map of 32in24-5, a deathmatch megawad. It was designed by Conor Maddin (ClonedPickle), detailed by Matthew Gilzinger (doom2day), and uses the music track "Into Sandy's City," originally composed by Robert Prince for Doom II.
The level is twenty-second in the list of initial layouts in the first post of the project's forum thread, though a time of submission cannot be determined as the initial layout was not posted in the thread - presumably submitted via IRC instead. The level is dedicated to Dylan McIntosh (Toke) and Jason Masihdas (Amaster), whose names are written in sectors outside of the map area.

Map layout[edit]
Suspenders at Dusk has a small and simple layout in the form of a square, the map is a grey techbase with two indoor rooms in the north of the map, and a large open outdoor area to the south, where a super shotgun can be found in the centre. Additionally there are two hallways, a longer one covering the north-west corner of the map, connecting the outdoor area to the western indoor room, and a shorter one in the north-east that connects the outdoor area to the eastern indoor room. Another super shotgun can be found the north-west corner of the map, and a green armor is also in this hallway, located to the south of the super shotgun.
The north-east hallway leads out to an elevated walkway that cannot be accessed from ground level. At the end of it is a plasma gun. The opposite side of the outdoor area is also a raised path which leads out from the north-west hallway, though there are steps leading up to it from ground level, and a rocket launcher can be found in the south-west corner. The outdoor area can also be accessed directly from the main indoor rooms, making the layout as interconnected as possible.
The two indoor rooms contain a chaingun each, and a fairly large supply of bullets and shells, with three boxes of bullets and 6x4 shotgun shells. A door in the north of the eastern room opens to reveal a small room with the exit switch and no items. This door also utilises a rarely-seen Boom feature in which the eastern room will be illuminated by the lights inside the exit room when, and only when, the door is opened.

This level contains eighteen spawn points:
- In the outdoor area, in an alcove between the two sets of steps leading into the main indoor rooms, facing south. Gets a chaingun on spawn. (thing 10)
- At the east end of the north-west hall, outside the north entrance to the western room, facing west. Gets a shotgun on spawn. (thing 14)
- In the north-west corner of the map, facing south-east. A super shotgun is a placed a short distance in front of this spawn. (thing 16)
- In the north-west corner of the western room, facing south-east. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 17)
- In the north-east corner of the western room, facing south-west. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 20)
- In the north-east corner of the eastern room, facing south-west. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 21)
- In the north-west corner of the eastern room, facing south-east. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 22)
- In the south-west corner of the western room, facing north-east. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 23)
- In the south-west corner of the eastern room, facing north-east. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 24)
- In the south-east corner of the western room, facing north-west. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 25)
- In the south-east corner of the eastern room, facing north-west. Closest weapon is the chaingun in the centre of the room. (thing 26)
- In the corner of the north-east hallway, facing south-west. A shotgun is placed a short distance in front of this spawn. (thing 27)
- In the north-east corner of the outdoor area at ground level, facing south-west. Closest weapon is the shotgun at the bottom of the steps into the eastern room. (thing 29)
- In the south-west corner of the map, facing east. Spawns next to the rocket launcher. (thing 30)
- In the south-east corner of the map, facing west. Spawns next to the plasma gun. (thing 31)
- In the north-west corner of the outdoor area at ground level, facing south-east. Closest weapon is the shotgun at the bottom of the steps into the western room. (thing 32)
- At the south end of the north-west hallway, inside the entrance from the outdoor area, facing north-west. A shotgun is just in front of this spawn, and the green armor is nearby, but spawn #18 is in the same place. (thing 35)
- On the opposite side of the entrance to spawn #17, facing north-east. Whilst both players can have the shotgun, only one will be able to take the armor. (thing 36)
