MAP07: The Killing Arena is the seventh map of Anomaly Report. It was designed by Michael Jan Krizik (valkiriforce) and uses the music track "Hunter's Lair," originally composed by David Shaw (Tolwyn) for Requiem. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:45.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

At the start you will see a platform with two mancubi, which is overlooked by a number of shotgun guys on the surrounding walkway. Kill both mancubi to lower the pillar holding the red keycard and take it, then go back to the starting point and walk west to find an armor next to a red door. Open the door and kill the chaingunners (and Hell knight on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels) waiting behind it, then flip the switch behind them to open a set of bars on the upper level.

Leave the room and go up the stairs to reach the walkway, then go round to the north-east corner and go down the stairs behind the bars to a room with demons. The blue keycard is in an alcove at the north end of the room, but it will rise out of reach when you approach it and the walls on either side will open to reveal four shotgun guys (or chaingunners on UV and NM). Go up the steps behind the zombies and press both skull switches at the top, which will raise some stairs and open the door leading to the blue key.

After taking the blue key, the two column in front of you will open to reveal demons and/or revenants. Press the gargoyle switch in the western column to open the stairs leading back to the walkway, then open the blue door in the north-west corner of the walkway to enter a hall with a water pool. Use the lift on the north side of the hall to go up to a switch and flip it to lower the waterfall at the west end, revealing a knight (and revenants on UV and NM), then step through the waterfall to get the yellow keycard. Go back to the platform near the starting point and deal with any cacodemons that have appeared, then open the yellow door at the north end of this area to find the exit switch.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the start, take the steps to your right and at the bloody pile, open the west wall and flip the switch. Head back to the start and get a supercharge. (sector 55)
  2. In the room with the switch past the red door, lower the west wall and take a lift up to get a computer area map. (sector 56)
  3. Near the chaingun next to the fence overlooking a yard, lower the wall with pipes at the north corner to get rockets and a rocket launcher. (sector 79)
  4. In the water area at the west end, go through the north waterfall and take a teleporter to get a box of rockets and health bonuses. (sector 81)
