MAP07: Waste Processing is the seventh map of The Darkening Episode 2. It was designed by Nick Baker (NiGHTMARE) and uses the music track "Penvant" by Peter Tomaselli (Kniggit).

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. Enter the room with the lift northeast from your starting point and press the wall with holes on it shaped like a square to obtain a super shotgun. (sector 179)
  2. Head down the stairs across the room with secret #1 to get into the crate room. Use the set of doors to the west to exit the crate room and head outside. In this familiar area, open the vent above the nukage in the northwest part of the area to find a shotgun. (sector 246)
  3. In the red key yard, press a part of the wall next to the door in the northeast part of this area to find a backpack. (sector 175)


Two Hell knights and a baron of Hell (Things 133-134 and 131) are placed outside of the playable area in a small closet with a teleporter. They're supposed to appear out of the exit teleporter, but there is no way this can happen because the teleporter is blocked off by an untagged door. Therefore, you can only achieve 97% kills (on UV) on this level.
