Head down the gorge and find a small dip with water in it. Go through it, going left at the fork to the switch. This opens the western temple. The yellow key is behind bars on the western side. When you climb the steps to it, a spider mastermind appears behind you. Two switches on the flanking walls here open the way to the key. Just be prepared for teleporting demons and other monsters as you head out. Now go through the eastern temple to the yellow door. Behind this door is a four way intersection with lava in the middle. Go to the right and enter a tiny passage south for a switch to open the passage east. Take a left at the fork and get the red key. Watch out for two arch-viles who appear right next to you when you grab it though.

Now backtrack and go to the west at the four-way split, heading into the tiny passage to a switch to open the hall further west. You will find an open area; enter the building via lift and hit the switch here to open a wall revealing a cyberdemon and a blue key. After grabbing the key, it is time to go north at the four-way intersection, so do that. Through here, go through both side passageways immediately to your left and right and hit the switches in both, These will give you access to the U-shaped hall northwards. The next switch you press here will reveal another outdoor courtyard behind you. Again go into the two side passages in front of you hitting the switches to open the middle path. Go down either staircase and you will end up in yet another large outdoor area.

The temples to your west and east are filled with supplies, and the northern one will trigger flanking monster ranks when you go up the stairs to it. The hall just west of the entrance to this temple has the switch to open it, so press it. Inside, grab the soul sphere and six mancubi will be revealed on all sides. Kill all of them to open the passage to the exit, but watch out for the arch-vile who quickly comes in afterwards. In the room with the sun emblem on the floor, approaching the exit closes it for thirty seconds, and you have to fight a final group of enemies while you wait.

Other points of interest[edit]

  1. From the start go left and down in the water. Go up and when you reach a fork go left. Head inside the niche that has the switch to open the western temple, then go back to the fork and take the other path. Here resides a chaingunner and a megasphere. (sector 121) Grabbing the sphere triggers an arch-vile to come out, and a rocket is in his closet.
  2. Past the blue key door and in the next chamber, take the passage to the right. There is a lava river here that you need to be careful about, since it will slow you down and damage you should you enter it. A small batch of rock with a megaarmor and an energy cell is right next to the lava river. (sector 331)
  3. In the room with the six mancubi emerging from cubby holes, the southwestern one has a switch. This switch opens a compartment in the middle left cubby hole that contains three rockets and three cell charges. (sector 599)
