MAP08: Arid Abode is the eighth map of Doom: The Golden Souls 2. It was designed by Andrea Gori (Batandy) and uses the music track "Ghost House Theme" from New Super Mario Bros. remixed by MidiGuy.

Big Coins[edit]

  1. In the water passage at the southeast part of the abode, head to the northeast side and surface into a small alcove which has a Big Coin. (thing 2037)
  2. Head to the hall south of the dining room and open the west door. Crouch at the west side where the red floor is to find a hidden passage leading to a Big Coin. (thing 489)
  3. At the graveyard, head into the hole in the middle grave to find a hidden cave where a Big Coin is. (thing 1401)

Golden Spiders[edit]

  1. Head to the hall south of the dining room and head all the way south, then open the west door. In this room with stairs, head to the shelf in front of you and to the southwest is a Golden Spider in a small corner. (thing 617)
  2. This Golden Spider is near the southeast door to the library. It's directly above a bookshelf northwest of the door as well as above a torch. (thing 618)
  3. At the dining room, a Golden Spider is at the northwest corner on the ceiling. (thing 619)
  4. In the room with coffins west of the library, this Golden Spider is at the southwest corner. (thing 620)
  5. In the room leading to the northeast switch, there is a fireplace. Duck into it and above you will be a Golden Spider. (thing 659)
  6. In the room with crates just before the water passage at the southeast part of the abode, go onto the crate at the northwest and through the web is one of the Golden Spiders. (thing 874)
  7. When you enter the puzzle section, go to the door with two skull piles, then the one with the web, then the one with candles in front of it. At this point, head to the lowest wooden platform and look north to find a Golden Spider. (thing 910)
  8. This Golden Spider is at the entrance of the abode, just above the southeast hole. (thing 1034)
  9. At the graveyard, a Golden Spider can be found southwest of the graves, high up. You will have to jump on a tree to jump up to it. (thing 1374)
  10. In the cave past the graveyard, jump across the thin platforms, but note a Golden Spider is on the south wall near the right side. (thing 2134)

Secret exit: After reaching the third room in the door puzzle area, if you turn around immediately you'll see there are three red arrows on the floor pointing to the door you just came out of. Enter the door and you'll be taken to a small room containing a switch, which when pressed, will open up a grate in the hidden passage in the library where the coffins were. Behind this grate is a door requiring the yellow skull key, and after passing it and going up the stairs you'll be given access to the library's upper reaches. Platform your way to the end of the room and to a door, where after fighting a couple more enemies, you can find the secret exit unlocking MAP44: Silhouette Sunset.
