MAP08: Arrhythmia is the eighth and final map of Heartland. It was designed by Paul DeBruyne (skillsaw) and uses the music track "Souls Symphony" by Stuart Rynn (stewboy) at the end of the level. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 2:00.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

The map is an epilogue to the events of the WAD. It consists of a small, dark series of paths in the four cardinal directions that loop together infinitely around a pillar and a set of torches. Running down any of the paths will cause the sound of a heartbeat to grow in volume and intensity. After passing the pillar about twelve times, the player will die, apparently of a heart attack, and the endgame text screen will display.
