MAP08: Castle is the eighth map of Lost Civilization. It was designed by Jaakko Impola (Jaska) and uses the music track "Medieval Banquet" by Bjørn Lynne.

Walkthrough

Map of Castle

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. At the first fork where the shotgun is, go southwest and through the bushes to a lift that lowers. At the top, you can find a plasma gun, an energy cell pack, a medikit, shotgun shells, partial invisibility, and rockets. (sector 986)
2. In the town area at the south end of the map, go to the southwest building and enter it through the west window to get a megaarmor, a medikit, another plasma gun, and energy cells. (sector 726)
3. Enter the small tower that has a super shotgun and take the lift up. Go around and cross over another lift, then drop down to get partial invisibility, medikits, a box of ammo, and a box of rockets. (sector 1218)
4. Enter the small tower that has a super shotgun and take the lift up. Go around and down another lift, then head west to a dockside with a BFG9000 and two energy cell packs (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower), a plasma gun and an energy cell pack (Ultra-Violence or higher), or an energy cell pack (Hurt Me Plenty). Enter the building to get a stimpack, armor bonuses, health bonuses, a chaingun, and a box of ammo. (sector 2290)
5. Enter the small tower that has a super shotgun and take the lift up. Go across to the east and head south. Jump south to the floor with the green armor, then take the steps to get a plasma gun, a box of rockets, and energy cells. (sector 30)
6. Enter the small tower that has a super shotgun and take the lift up. Go across to the east and open the door. Enter the small hall with chaingunners and shotgun guys, then use the wall with the picture to find stairs leading to an energy cell, a plasma gun, and a megaarmor. (sector 120)
7. From the same building that had the previous secret, jump to the building to the east, then head north and around to a set of steps. Take them up and jump across the parapets until you reach a megasphere. (sector 350)
8. From the same building that had the previous secret, jump to the building to the east, then head north and around to a set of steps. Jump to the northeast courtyard and head northeast to get another plasma gun, an energy cell, and a berserk pack. (sector 1650)
9. Use the yellow key on the yellow door to enter the castle area proper, then head to the left side and head all the way north. Shoot the barrels and take the passage to a secret courtyard with another plasma gun, an energy cell pack, and medikits. (sector 3005)
