MAP08: Crash is the eighth map of Disrepair. It was designed by Andrea Rovenski (Cyberdemon531) and uses the music track "Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against the Machine. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:40.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Press the switch in the small room to open the main door, and dispatch the numerous enemies you encounter. Collect the plasma rifle to lower a wall, revealing more enemies and a door. Press the switch inside the door to lower another door, and another horde. Collect the now-lowered Doomsphere, and try to wipe out as many enemies as possible. Once the bars lower around the red key, run up to it to reveal some Suicide Bombers and another room. Enter this room, press the switch, go to collect the red key, and make your way to the level exit.

Other points of interest[edit]

  1. Once you've unlocked the red key, go to the area at the other side of the wall it stands against, and activate the misaligned texture. This teleports you to a megasphere, and an Easter egg of Rowlf the Dog taken from Muppet Racemania. (sector 6)

Technical information[edit]

Inspiration and development[edit]

Muppet Racemania was one of Cyberdemon531's favourite games to speedrun during the making of the wad, so she threw the Rowlf Easter egg in as a nod to that. Another Racemania Easter egg would be found later on, in Disrepair 2.
