MAP08: Midnight is the eighth map of Plutonia 1024: The Plutinya Experiment. It was designed by Dávid Norbert (NoneeLlama), and the par time defined in MAPINFO is 2:00.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

As the level starts there are two zombiemen (or shotgun guys on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher) behind you, and a revenant through the fence ahead; use the super shotgun and berserk pack on either side to kill them, then head through the north door and turn right to find imps and demons guarding a normal shotgun. Walk south towards a switch and kill two shotgun guys (or chaingunners on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare) that appear in a cage behind you, then flip the switch to reveal one or two pain elementals and a shotgun guy guarding a plasma gun. Use this weapon to kill a mancubus waiting round the next corner, then step past it to get the red skull key.

Head back to the north side of the map, killing any shotgun guys and revenants that have teleported in, then proceed west and south to find more shotgun guys guarding a skull switch that will open the bars next to it. Push past a couple of waiting imps and step through the wooden archway behind them, kill a Hell knight that appears then press the gargoyle switch behind it - this will lower a platform on the north side of the map holding the yellow key, but will also allow two cacodemons to teleport in and release an arch-vile from the north-west corner. Collect the yellow key then head back to where you found the red key, slay a second arch-vile then go through the locked door here to reach the exit teleporter.

  1. The megasphere and backpack in the well in the south-west corner (sector 50) can only be reached with an arch-vile jump.
