Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Go straight forward until you drop down to some broken steps, collect the shotgun here then step on the lift on the west side to go up to a room with imps and demons. Go to the south end of the room to find a super shotgun—the floor will lower to reveal a tunnel which leads to the exit later—then collect the red skull key on top of the pyramid in the center of the room and deal with some more imps that teleport in. Go through the open windows to drop back down to the blood pit and go through the red door in the north-west corner, step through the hole in the wall in front of you and walk east to a hole, then climb the stairs to a switch and flip it to lower the walls on either side. Go east up some blood steps, then continue south down two platforms to a ledge with a chaingun and flip the switch here to lower a wall in the starting hallway.
Climb the stairs behind the wall you just lowered and open the door at the top, then deal with the Hell knights and baron of Hell waiting ahead (or two vassagos on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels before using the lift next to them. At the top, head west through two round chambers then north to a sealed door, then climb up the nearby steps to land in a fleshy room with an eye switch. Press the switch to lower the north and south walls, revealing imps followed by demons, then press the skull switch at the south end to lower it and reveal one or two revenants that will teleport between the round chambers. Go through the now-open door to get back outside, where (on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or higher) a cyberdemon has appeared, then head down the steps to another skull switch and press it to raise a small platform behind you. Step across the platform to reach the north side of the starting hallway, which is defended by chaingunners, then step through the hole in the wall here and go north up a staircase to drop into a small courtyard.
Go through the door in the south-west corner of the courtyard, then head south to a tall lift and ride it up to the upper level of the red key room. Head round to where you found the super shotgun and flip the switch here to lower the floor, then go through to a "virtual" room with red walls and fight through some revenants to reach the north-west corner. Go east from here to a skull switch, which will raise steps to the yellow skull key just behind the switch, then take the key and go back to the red key room. Follow the tunnel you revealed earlier to a yellow door and pass through it, then open the exit door in this room and go down the steps behind it to the exit teleporter. (If you wish, you can go east from the exit door to another teleporter, which goes to the cyberdemon's platform so you can telefrag it.)
Other points of interest[edit]
The dark tunnel in the south-east corner of the map leads to a rocket launcher and rockets.
Secrets[edit]
- From the ledge with the chaingun, step north to drop into a trench with an armor. (sector 414)
- Go through the door south of the starting point, then head east and south to a room with three alcoves that have hanging corpses. Open the back wall of the easternmost alcove, which has slime at the bottom, to find a berserk pack. (sector 886)
- Go down the steps in front of secret #2, then press the silver wall on the left-hand side to lower it and reveal a button. (sector 374)
- Pressing the button in secret #3 opens a cage to the west holding a mancubus and a supercharge. Follow the hallway north, west and south up some steps to two doors, then open the left-hand door and enter the teleporter behind it to get inside the cage. (sector 367)
- In the courtyard at the north end of the map, flip the skull lever inside the north-west building to lower the floor into a blood pool, then flip a second switch in the south-west corner of the courtyard to lower a pair of steps in the opposite corner. Press the skull switch next to those steps to open a door behind you, then run up to the top of the stairs and run south-west to land in front of this door. Go through before it closes to get the blue skull key. (sector 604)
- With the blue key from secret #5, go back to the two teleporters at the south end of the map. Open the blue door next to the right-hand teleporter to get a radiation shielding suit. (sector 314)
- With the radiation suit from secret #6, enter the teleporter next to it to go to the lava at the east side. Go to the south side of the pool, which will slow you down due to its high friction, to get an incinerator and two fuel cans. (sector 330)
- In the "virtual" room with the yellow key, go to the north-east corner to find an alcove with a button and press it to lower the north wall, revealing a berserk pack. (sector 751)
Bugs[edit]
A scrolling texture (linedef 473) without the pass use flag is placed in front of a lift, blocking use attempts on the lift unless the player gets closer than is normally required. For this reason the lift may seem largely unresponsive.

Trivia[edit]
- Second Coming was originally considered for a previous project by GooberMan, Demon Workers Unite!. While the initial layout was being made, Legacy of Rust started development and the map was switched over to that project.[1]
