MAP08: They Heard You Growling is the eighth map of The Mapwich. It was designed by galileo31dos01 and Pegleg, and uses the music track "Demons on the Prey" from Doom, composed by Robert Prince.

Secrets[edit]
- When you teleport to the main area, you will see a teleporter to the east that is barred off. When you open the southeast door, enter the hall behind it until two alcoves open. Enter the right one and use the switch inside. Return to the teleporter to access an outside area with a soul sphere, armor bonuses, stimpacks, medikits, energy cells, and a plasma gun. (sector 64)
- At the outside area mentioned above, head behind the soul sphere hut and find small steps behind the large trees to get on the high rocks. Follow the rocks all the way to the end to get fourteen boxes of rockets. (sector 194)
- At the southeast part of the map, climb the rocks on the perimeter to the easternmost switch. Use it and quickly run back to the center block that lowered to get health bonuses and a megaarmor. (sector 661)
- Enter the first lava area and go through the lava at the southwest end to get a soul sphere. (sector 844)
- In the northeast halls, use the skull in the middle to find a hidden switch. Use that switch to open a demon wall to the west (open the wall to the west with the switch at the end of the hall if you do not see a demon wall) and quickly enter the compartment behind it to get a box of shotgun shells, a box of rockets, and a medikit. (sector 892)
- Open the red door and make your way to the southeast part of the caves. Shoot a switch tucked in the north wall to reveal a computer area map to the east. (sector 446)
- In the cave area, fall into the lava and head north. You will find a rock with an arrow of health bonuses pointing north. Head through the wall to find a teleporter to the northernmost section of the map. (sector 517)
