Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

As the level starts you will see a Hell knight (baron of Hell on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels) in front of you, and there will be one or two demons behind you that can trap you when you make a noise. Press the door that the noble is guarding to lower the floor, deal with the lost souls and mancubus then head east to see one or two revenants guarding a lift. Activate the lift, which has an arch-vile hiding behind it on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or higher, then ride the lift up and follow the ledge back to the starting room where a doorway has opened in the north-west wall.

Press the skull switch behind the doorway to activate a second lift, ride it up to a platform with a rocket launcher then straferun to the platform below which holds the red skull key; landing on the platform will release various monsters, including a pain elemental, near the first lift. Go back to that lift and open the red door behind it to enter a blood pool, then flip the skull lever on the north-west wall to release imps and revenants (plus an arch-vile on HMP or higher). Press the satyr switch at the south-east end to lower the center column and reveal a berserk pack, then collect this item to finish the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. Go behind the red key platform to find a supercharge (or an armor and two stimpacks on UV and NM). (sector 16)

Bugs[edit]

Two monster pairs (things 65 and 205, 71 and 204) are each meant to have only one monster enabled depending on difficulty, but they all spawn and are stuck on the easy difficulties.
