Essentials[edit]

Take the chaingun in front of you, then go through the western doorway and follow the tunnel past some imps and zombies until you drop into a yard with a nukage stream. Follow the stream east to a broken door and step through it, kill two cacodemons waiting in the corridor then open the door at the south end to reach a ledge overlooking another yard. Before continuing you should head north to a button and press it to lower the nearby BFG9000; you will need this weapon shortly, as when you drop into the yard a spiderdemon and cyberdemon will rise from the north-east and south-west corners. Go to the button at the west end and press it to lower a lift, then ride the lift up to a ledge and press a second button at its west end; this will raise a lift leading back to the tunnel near the starting point, which you will need later.

Open the door at the south end of the yard and kill any demons waiting behind it, then climb the steps to a hall and press the button at the west end to lower a computer block behind you. Ride the block up to two buttons and press the eastern button (the western button opens the other exit from the hall), which will lower the columns around you to reveal cacodemons but will also open a teleporter at the west end. Enter the teleporter to go to the opposite ledge and press the button here to lower the yellow keycard along with a supercharge, then retrace your steps to the starting point and open the yellow door to reveal the red keycard; watch out for four revenants that are released as you pick it up. Return to the yard with the nukage streams and enter the green room at the south end, then head south to a room with two doors and open the left-hand (western) door to enter a pool of water. Kill the waiting imps, zombies and revenants, then open the red door at the south end to find the exit switch.
