MAP09: Refinery (Pleiades)

MAP09: Refinery is the ninth map of Pleiades. It was designed by Roger Ritenour and uses the music track "Dark Halls" by Bobby Prince.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.


Other points of interest[edit]


  1. When you reach the refinery, head to the southernmost room. Here, climb the large ladder to the vent and shoot it, allowing you access to the ventilation system. (sector 66)
  2. From Secret #1, perform a strafejump north so you land on the crate with the box of ammo and health bonuses. (sector 94)
  3. At the start, head all the way around the building that is to your left. You will spot some explosive canisters at the backside of the wooden fence. Shoot them, and the section of fence will open up (if this does not happen, shoot at the wall directly). This will allow you to enter the building. (sector 128)
  4. Enter the building mentioned in Secret #3 and head to the last room, with two stimpacks, shotgun shells, and three health bonuses. Press alongside the wall at the east end and eventually you will open up a secret room, containing ammo clips and a soul sphere. (sector 144)
  5. When you reach the refinery, open the doors that lead to the room north of the entrance. Then, go to the northwest corner and press on the plain wall to lower it. You will find a berserk pack. (sector 152)
  6. When you reach the big silos, head around the northernmost one until you find a sealed entrance. Lower the wall there to find a green armor. (sector 300)
  7. Dive into the slime pit where the yellow key is to get ammo clips and shotgun shells. (sector 301)
  8. Dive into the slime pit to the right of Secret #7 to find stimpacks and shotgun shells. (sector 348)


Four multiplayer-only armors (Things 62 through 65) have no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, so they do not actually appear in the level.
