Essentials[edit]

Take the super shotgun and rocket launcher on either side of you then open the door ahead and kill an imp waiting behind it. Go forward to a T-junction (there is an armor here on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher) and kill any approaching imps, zombies and demons then open either of the south doors and walk through to find another door guarded by two demons waiting to ambush you. Head forward through the next corridor to another door, watching out for spectres on either side on HMP or higher, then go through to a cavern that contains zombies and (on HMP or higher) a pain elemental and mancubus. Go to either of the doorways in the south-west corner, watching out for revenants and cacodemons on two ledges behind you, then follow the passage round to some steps with a chaingun on them.

Go up to the top of the steps and kill a spectre on your left, then approach the doorway in the north wall to open a closet holding two imps (or three chaingunners on HMP or higher). Head north through a dark cavern with more spectres on HMP or higher then look through the doorway ahead to see a cacodemon at the bottom of a staircase. Head up the stairs and kill any chaingunners and spectres waiting at the top then flip the switch on the north wall, which will open a door in the cavern below. Go back down to the cavern, watching out for some revenants that have been released from an open closet, then kill one or two mancubi before entering the now-open east door and stepping on a lift that will take you down to a lava river.

Use caution before going through the next door as several imps, cacodemons and Hell knights will be waiting on the lava river, along with a cyberdemon on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM). Follow the path east to a door and open it, kill the enemies hiding behind the columns in the next room then go through the doorways in the north-east or south-east corners - through each doorway are four lost souls and one or two chaingunners (plus a mancubus on UV and NM) guarding a switch that needs to be flipped. Flipping both switches will open the bars on the east doorway, allowing you to go through and a door that has two imps (plus an arch-vile on HMP or higher) behind it; kill them then open the piped door behind the exit sign and step on the lift in front of you to finish the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

Flipping the switch in the south-west area will open a monster closet containing revenants near the center cavern. This closet also contains a plasma gun along with two energy cells (replaced with energy cell packs on UV and NM).

On HMP or higher, a megasphere can be found behind the rock column in the lava river area.
