MAP09: Thanatos Underground is the ninth map of Desolation. It was designed by Dzyan Kelsick (Arclite) and uses the music track "Office Battle" from F.E.A.R.

Walkthrough

Map of Thanatos Underground

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. When you enter the northeast hall and go through it, when you first warp, backtrack a bit and open a wall to the north to get a red armor. (sector 827)
2. In the west section, at the east side, enter a crate to get a box of ammo. (sector 97)
3. Head north from the previous secret and get onto a lamp. Get onto the ledge near the lamp and head south to get a doomsphere. (sector 584)
4. In the same area, head to the northwest lift and take it up. At the top you can get a chainsaw, a medikit, a shotgun, max. health bonuses, a max. armor bonus, and a megaarmor. (sector 693)
5. In Secret #4, jump onto a barrel at the south end and jump to a crate with an energy cell pack. (sector 96)
