Other points of interest[edit]
Finding one of the Artifacts in this map requires finding a number of hidden switches, which are always located behind pools of twitching gibs decorations. The first switch may be found in the cave to the east, by pressing the center of the rock wall to the north. The second switch is in the west, when you first step into the nukage area. There are two small alcoves here, one on the left which contains a medikit, and the other on the right with a pool of twitching gibs. Press the right one to uncover the switch. The third and fourth switches are also in the west but more to the north, in a room containing a cyberdemon that is revealed upon pressing a switch. In this room, the walls to the left and right of the various boxes of rockets reveal the switches. The fifth and final hidden switch is in the south, on the eastern pillar in the room filled with mancubi. After getting all the switches, you now need to press a series of other switches, but all of these are located in the northernmost room of the map. After hitting all of those, backtrack down to the southern room, and press one more switch that will have opened up. Finally, the pillar containing the Artifacts will have lowered, and you will be able to pick one of your choosing - the other two will disappear once you pick one.
Secrets[edit]
- After the four main doors of the central arena open and you can go to the outer zone, if you go to the east, you'll see a caged mancubus on a platform. Reach behind this platform to find a backpack. (thing 62)
- After getting past the river and raising the bridge, behind the switch you find here, drop to the left to reach a small platform holding a BFG9000. (thing 345)
A cacodemon (Thing 486) and three energy cell packs (1106 through 1108) have no flags set for any of the three difficulty classes, so they do not actually appear in the level.
