MAP10: Beacon is the tenth map of Vile Flesh. It was designed by Gwyn Williams, who also composed the level's untitled music track, which is also used in MAP20: Demon Seed.

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. As you go around the bend at the start, a window opens with an arch-vile behind it. If you press on the wall at the inner bend, you will reveal a teleporter which will allow you to telefrag the arch-vile. (sector 6)
  2. In the large waterway, go to the easternmost end and press the switch on the right side, then backtrack until you see a mancubus coming from a compartment. Enter and press on the northern wall to get a rocket launcher. (sector 262)
  3. To the north of Secret #2, press on the left wall at the corner and take the lift up to reach energy cell packs, a medikit, a partial invisibility, a backpack, and a teleporter which allows you to telefrag the cyberdemons. (sector 300)
