MAP10: MAP18 - Purifier is the tenth map of Switcheroom 2. It was designed by Matt Powell (cannonball) and uses the music track "Into Sandy's City" by Robert Prince. It is based on the layout of MAP18: The Courtyard.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Go straight forward to a chaingun, which is guarded by zombiemen and imps, then head north through an archway to reach the building at the center of the map. Go west to a ledge with an arachnotron, then open the door to the north before going north up the stairs to reach the yellow keycard. Enter the doorway north of the yellow key and kill two revenants hiding behind the wall ahead, then go east along a gray ledge and open the yellow door at the end to find steps leading down to a nukage pit. Take the radiation shielding suit in the south-east corner, then enter the pit and look behind the eastern pillar to find the blue keycard. Flip the switch on the northern pillar to lower the nearby ledge, revealing two pain elementals, then ride it up to a teleporter that will take you out of the pit. Go back outside and head south-west from the central building to find the exit door, then open it and flip the switch here to end the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

East of the central building is a plus-shaped depression with a megaarmor; entering the plus activates a crusher above it. If you go through the door east of the crusher, it will close behind you and you will need to navigate a series of nukage pools to get to the red keycard, which will allow you to leave this area. You can use this key to open the door in the north-west corner of the map, which has a BFG9000 behind it.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the south area, head to the south-east pillar in the nukage and use the switch on its east side. Quickly run north through the tunnel, then turn west and head south to a teleporter to access the central area. This has ammo, medikits and an invulnerability. (sector 32)
  2. Approach the plus-shaped crusher and go north-east of it to a switch. Press it and head back west, then north-east to a teleporter. Take it to get boxes of rockets, stimpacks and an energy cell pack. (sector 135)
  3. In the nukage at the east end, head to the south-east side and lower the north-east wall to get rockets and a computer area map. (sector 180)
  4. At the red key, lower a wall to the north and take the teleporter to a megasphere, a box of rockets and a radiation suit. (sector 209)
