MAP10: Postmodern Hydraulics (Doomworld Mega Project 2013)
|DMP 2013 maps|
MAP10: Postmodern Hydraulics is the tenth map in the DMP2013L.wad mapset of the Doomworld Mega Project 2013. It was designed by Gus Knezevich (Alfonzo), and uses the music track "Riot Squadron," composed by James Paddock (Jimmy).
Most of the map takes place in a small facility with a small hellish cavern to the side. In the textfile the map is supplied with a tongue-in-cheek storyline, where the player is tasked with finding and terminating a "former rig worker and confessed shrimp enthusiast" who is summoning demons into "Superzealand's tertiary oil field".

Head past the revenant, up the stairs, and through the door. In the downstairs area you will find the chaingun and the blue keycard. Go back to your starting area; there is a blue key door next to where you began the level. Open the door and pick up the red key. Head back downstairs, open the red key door, enter and drop down the hole. Get the plasma rifle and press the switch. A new area will be revealed to the north, crowded with imps and Hell knights, and with a super shotgun to the northwest. Kill the monsters, then stand next to one of the mancubus cages and do a running jump to get the yellow key from above the lava pool. Drop down into the pool and quickly enter one of the teleporters to return to the beginning of the level. Go downstairs again, open the yellow door and press the exit switch.
Other points of interest
After you pick up the red key, some revenants and a door with EXIT signs is revealed to the east. Open the door to find a chainsaw. You can try and make a running jump into the flashing cavern in front of you, but it will just kill you.
- From the ledge with the chainsaw, look south. There is an opening in the wall with a stairway visible inside. Drop down there to find four armor bonuses and a super shotgun, as well as a teleporter back up. (sector 15)
