MAP10: Reservoirs is the tenth map of Doom 2 the Way id Did. It was designed by Richard Frei (Tarnsman). The par time defined in the DEHACKED lump is 2:00.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.


Head south up some steps to get outside, where some shotgun guys and imps are guarding a chaingun on a small island, then go west to a wooden door and pass through it. Look north to see some imps guarding a rocket launcher (taking it releases chaingunners and a revenant near the door), then head east past more imps to a nukage pool with an evil eye and enter it to teleport to a small room with a megaarmor (and supercharge on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels). Approach the items to lower the wall ahead and reveal some demons (plus mancubi on Hurt Me Plenty on higher), then enter the teleporter by the east wall to go to the neighboring room to the north. Climb the steps and press the button at the top to raise a staircase, then climb it to reach the red keycard.

Drop into the damaging blood pool below and run east to some gray steps, go down them then go down a second staircase in the south-east corner of the next room. At the bottom is a nukage pit with a moving triangular platform in it - kill the arachnotron on the platform, get on it then run through the doorway on the east side to land in a room with zombies and a mancubus. Open the door at the south end to enter a storage room with several imps, then go to the south end of the room to find the yellow keycard hidden behind one of the crates.

Now return to the previous room and head east into a curved passage that leads to an octagonal room, then head south past two pain elementals to return to the starting point. Go up the southern steps again and head west to the door you used earlier, but this time go up the steps next to it and head west through a courtyard to a columned hall with a mancubus. Open the red door in the south-west corner and climb a staircase, then follow the corridor round to the exit door (requiring the yellow key) and open it to find a demon guarding the exit switch.

Other points of interest[edit]

Go to the ledge overlooking the courtyard east of the exit, then open the door here to enter a large silo. Go north and west through two more silos to find a BFG9000. Watch out for imps/mancubi that are released on either side as you approach the weapon.



  1. At the north-east end, head west and south-west to a computer terminal. Use it to lower a wall behind you, with a supercharge, a partial invisibility and a backpack. (sector 21)
  2. Head south from the yellow key to the nukage, finding a switch on the right of two columns. Flip it and go back north to a lowering crate. This crate conceals a megaarmor, an energy cell pack and a berserk pack. (sector 41)
  3. Head south from the red key and into the damaging blood, going south-east to find a supercharge and a box of shotgun shells. (sector 184)


  • In the room north-east of the blood pool, enter the blue-floored area and press the skull switch at the west end to trigger an ambush by demons. Now go to the the moving triangular platform and ride it all the way to the top, then jump to the northern ledge and go west to find a plasma gun.
