Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

Head straight forward until you climb into a building with imps and other monsters, take the shotgun then press the button on the east wall to lower some bars by the starting point. Go through those bars and follow the tunnel to a circular chamber, press the skull switch here to lower another set of bars and kill two shotgun guys and a chaingunner that are released before continuing north. Once you get outside, follow the slime trench west past some lost souls to a round cavern, then kill any imps inside before climbing the steps to a ruin containing a super shotgun. Go east from this point until you reach another ruin, then run north over the slime trench you just walked through to see a brick doorway ahead that leads to a morgue. Enter the morgue and kill some waiting imps, then press the satyr switch at the north-east end before going back outside.

Go back to the ruin that had the super shotgun and run north over the slime trench again; the west wall in this area has lowered to reveal a slime pool and some more imps. Enter the pool and climb up the steps on the north side to dispose of Hell knights and shotgun guys, then walk east until you drop into another slime river before going north into a dark tunnel; use caution as halfway along the tunnel, you will be ambushed by shotgun guys (and chaingunners on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher). At the end of the tunnel you will drop into a canyon guarded by spectres and zombies - follow the canyon round to its south-west end to find a skull door and open it to confront a revenant, activate the metal lift in this room and ride it up to a wooden building containing the red skull key. Taking the key will lower the north wall, revealing a spiderdemon on the other side of the canyon.

Leave the building and head round to its south-east side to enter a small cavern, then press the gargoyle switch at the back to get back to the upper level of the slime river. Go south and west to return to the slime pool with the steps, then continue west through the vine wall to enter a round chamber with some red skull bars that you can now open. Follow the tunnel past some demons and chaingunners to a wooden door and go through it to enter a hall, which has imps (and revenants on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM)) on its lower level. Go down the steps to the lower level and press the lion switch at the west end, which is guarded by imps, to lower the blue skull key then climb up another set of steps in the south-east corner to reach another door. Go through to a storage area then fight your way east and south to the blue key.

Use the red key door to the east to get back outside, then head north to the slime pool with the steps and climb them again, then walk south to a skull switch (requiring the blue key) and press it to open some bars nearby. Now drop into the slime river to the east and head north towards the tunnel you used earlier; instead of entering that tunnel, go up the steps next to it to reach an area with a Y-shaped path (there is a mancubus here on UV and NM). Drop into either of the north pools then head north up some curved steps to reach a skull switch guarded by a few zombies; the switch will lower the green walls on either side revealing imps (plus chaingunners on HMP or higher), as well as two more skull switches that will lower the pillar holding the yellow skull key. Go up the steps on the west side of this area, collecting a rocket launcher on the way, to return to the path then open the yellow bars in the south-west corner to confront two revenants guarding a hole. Drop down the hole and follow the tunnel past some lost souls to find some imps defending the exit teleporter.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Inside the morgue at the east end of the map, a trail of blood leads to the white wall at the north end. Open it for a rocket launcher. (sector 117)
  2. Use the lift that leads up to the red key building, then immediately turn right to find an alley with an energy cell pack at the end. (sector 697)
  3. Jump north from the red key building and over the river. There is a box of rockets on the ledge below. (sector 687)
  4. Inside the storage area with the blue key, find the wooden crate with a candle on it and lower it. Ride it up, and get onto the nearby crate with a chaingunner on top of it. A megaarmor is behind an indented wall here. (sector 680)
  5. At the cave west of the yellow key, press on the window with torches behind it, then quickly run up the rocks and enter the pool of mud to the north-east. The rock with three energy cells will be lowered for a few seconds, so quickly head to it. (sector 391)
