Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Press the switch to raise the floor and go up to a crossroads with four sets of bars, which will open over the course of the level. Approach the eastern bars to lower them and go forward to a door, open it and walk slowly into the room ahead to face zombies, imps and cacodemons. Continue east through another door to enter a small yard, then go round to the south side of the rock structure to find a button—pressing it will lower the pillar holding the red keycard, but will also lower the gray block on the rocks to reveal a cyberdemon. Climb up the stairs in the north-west corner of the courtyard and kill any bazooka men waiting at the top, then ride the lift at the top of the steps down to the red key; a set of bars will close behind you to block your escape. Climb up the steps on the east side of the room, then look straight ahead to see a switch on the opposite wall that you can shoot to open the bars again.
Go back to the entrance room and open the red door at the south end, then activate the lift to your left and ride it up to the ledge overlooking the rock structure Go round to the north-east end to find a berserk pack, press the switch here to lower the red bars at the starting point, then kill the demons that are released behind you before going back to the crossroads. Go through the north door and climb the eastern staircase, kill a chaingunner then open the door it was guarding to find imps guarding a switch. Flip the switch to lower a nearby wall and kill the zombies waiting on either side of it, then go through to a lava pit and step across the moving platforms to reach an opening in the south-east corner. Kill a couple of waiting shotgun guys, climb the steps and run west to a ledge overlooking the courtyard with the yellow keycard. There are two switches at the west end of the ledge—the left-hand switch lowers the pedestal holding the key, and the right-hand switch causes some shotgun guys, demons and revenants to teleport to the courtyard.
Go back down to the entrance door, where the bar blocking the western staircase has lowered, then climb that staircase and open the door at the top to face one or two arachnotrons. Go north through another door and head down the steps to a bridge guarded by one or more mancubi and revenants, kill the monsters on the southern platforms and shoot the gargoyle switches behind them to raise two more bridges that lead to a pair of switches. Flip both switches to open the yellow key courtyard, go back there to collect it then head north to a yellow door and open it to see some hightech guys guarding a teleporter and a satyr switch. Press the switch to open the yellow bars at the starting point, enter the teleporter to go back to the entrance door then return to the crossroads and go through the west door to enter an area with several brick buildings. Enter the water and go to the north-east building, then head round to an opening on its south side (you can see the blue keycard on a ledge here) and flip the switch here to lower a lift. Ride the lift up to a ledge with an arch-vile and flip the switch here to raise a set of steps on the north side of the building, then climb them and follow the ledge round to the blue keycard.
Use the blue key to open the locked door opposite the entrance door, kill one or two bazooka men then enter the central building to see some demons and revenants guarding a curved staircase. Climb the stairs and grab the armor at the top to teleport to the north building, then push past the waiting shotgun guys and pain elementals to reach another teleporter that goes to the south-east building. Go west to two buttons and press the eastern button five times to raise a platform leading back to the central building (the northern button can be pressed to reset the platform if it gets too high), then step across to that building and climb the steps to a blue door. Take the nearby berserk pack and open the door to find an arch-vile guarding a switch, press it then go back to the crossroads and open the south door to find one or two cacodemons guarding the exit switch.
Other points of interest[edit]
The room north of the red key area contains a rocket launcher.
A plasma gun is hidden in the water at the west end of the blue key area. Go around the south side of the central building to find it.
Secrets[edit]
Official[edit]
- Pressing the switch that lowers the red bars at the starting point will open a closet behind you containing demons. Open the brick wall in the south-west corner of this closet to see a lift with an energy cell pack, ride it down and open the door at the bottom to see a spectre guarding a megasphere. (sector 62)
- After opening the western staircase in the yellow key area, climb those stairs then open the misaligned section of the west wall at the top to find shotgun shells. (sector 431)
Non-official[edit]
- After passing through the red door, go through another door in front of you then press the blue wall in the north-east corner of the next room to lower a lift with an armor. Follow the ledge round to the south-west corner and open the circuit wall here, then follow the tunnel round to a lift and press the button at the top to lower the wall to your left, revealing chaingunners along with a supercharge and large ammo pickups.
