MAP11: A Minor Doomsday is the eleventh map of Claustrophobia 1024 2. It was designed by Walter Confalonieri (daimon) and Joonas Äijälä (Jodwin), and uses a remixed MIDI rendition of the introduction theme from Mega Man X2, sequenced by Zoraspace, as its music track.

You start in a small hub with four teleporters. Kill the shotgun guy in front of you and enter the south teleporter (directly ahead) to enter a corridor, then go round the corner and kill two zombiemen before opening the door to confront more shotgun guys along with an imp. Open another door straight ahead and kill another shotgun guy standing in a nukage spout, then head past it and follow the path round to a button guarded by a demon (on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels it is replaced with a Hell knight, and you will also find a berserk pack in this area). Press the button and kill the chaingunner that is revealed overhead, then go back up to the blue-floored room where the yellow keycard has appeared in an alcove, and some bars have opened to reveal a switch; pull the switch then open the west door to return to the entrance hallway where two imps (and a revenant on UV and NM) will teleport in. Look through the south window to see a button ahead and shoot it, then go back outside and use the teleporter that has lowered to return to the hub.

Kill the waiting shotgun guy then enter the west teleporter and open the door in front of you to enter a storage room with a chaingunner. Follow the corridor east past a few monsters, turn right at the end to see a door and open it to get outside and face a few lost souls (plus a cacodemon on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or higher). Step round the flesh-covered crate to find the blue skull key, then open the nearby door in the south wall to find a knight guarding a skull switch - this will lower the teleporter leading back to the hub, but do not go to it yet. Instead, return to the hallway and look at the blue panels on the south wall to see that one of them has lowered, revealing a narrow closet with a lost soul and another skull switch. Press the switch then return to the hallway (three chaingunners have been revealed behind the north panels) and go back into the entrance room to dispose of one or two revenants that have appeared. Press the skull switch on the south wall to open the third teleporter in the hub, then enter the teleporter behind you to go back there.

Enter the north teleporter to enter a red room, kill the shotgun guy ahead (along with a chaingunner to your left on HMP or higher) then shoot the skull switch on the opposite wall to raise some platforms over the lava pit. Cross the pit and open the door, turn left to kill a demon then press the eye switch behind it to open a second door behind you. Go through that door to dispose of two imps and a knight (or baron of Hell on UV and NM), then step across to the north side of the room to get a super shotgun and press the gargoyle switch here to open another door by the eye switch you pressed earlier. Slay the cacodemon that is released then go to the door you just opened (an arch-vile has appeared here on HMP or higher), then enter the next room and climb up the crates by the north wall. From here you need to shoot the skull switch on the opposite wall a few times, which will gradually open the bars blocking the lion switch on the west wall but will also bring in an imp and chaingunner (and revenant on HMP or higher).

Once you can reach the lion switch, press it to lower the red skull key by the entrance teleporter (and bring in an arch-vile on UV and NM), then go back to the entrance and kill one or two waiting chaingunners before collecting the key. Kill one or two cacodemons that appear, then return to the east room and press the satyr switch by the south wall to open a teleporter behind you. Use this teleporter to return to the hub, then enter the east teleporter to finish the level.

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. Once you've grabbed the blue key, part of the south wall in the previous hallway will lower, revealing a small closet with a skull switch. Inside there, on the wall opposite the skull switch, is a tiny red button that can be very hard to spot at first. Press that switch, and one of the gray crates in the previous room will lower, revealing a plasma gun and two energy cells guarded by a revenant. (sector 479)

This map contains three separate areas accessed from the starting room via teleporters. Each of these areas is designed in the style of one of Doom's first three episodes, and the order these areas are first visited in matches the episode order.
