Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
You begin in the oval room near the center of the map. Open the east door to face a teleporting demon and some zombies, then continue east to get outside and press the gargoyle switch directly ahead to lower a lift (which has a Hell knight on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher). Ride the lift up and head north into a hallway, then follow this round until you reach a super shotgun; a set of bars will close behind you, and demons will be released from behind the north wall. Enter the room to the south to find the yellow skull key, which will open a nearby closet containing shotgun guys and chaingunners, then flip the switch behind the yellow key to reopen the bars so you can leave.
Go back to the lift and head south into the next room, then flip the switch here (requiring the yellow key) to open a chamber behind you with demons and an arachnotron. Grab the rocket launcher and flip the switch in this chamber to raise two bridges, then cross the western bridge and push past some demons to enter a room with a caged arachnotron and cacodemons, then open the door on the east side and flip the switch behind it to open the barriers on either side of the cage. Step over the blood trench to enter the cage, then open the south door and go down the steps to find a baron of Hell (or arch-vile on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare) guarding a satyr switch. Press this switch to lower the bars inside the cage, then flip another switch behind those bars to open a door leading back to the starting room. Return there to find that the center chamber has opened, letting you take the red skull key inside it.
With the red key, open the north door in the starting room then continue north through some red bars to find an arachnotron defending a gargoyle switch. Press the switch to raise a set of steps at the north end of the map, then go back outside and enter the blood trenches on either side of the area before heading north to the steps you just raised. Press the lion switch at the top to open a column behind you containing the blue skull key, then leave the trenches and open the doors on either side of the red bars you opened earlier to get the key; taking it triggers an ambush by cacodemons (and two more arachnotrons on HMP or higher). Go back outside and open the blue door on the west side, then follow the walkway round to a switch and flip it to open a compartment behind you with demons and knights. Flip a second switch inside this compartment to open a teleporter, then enter it and open the exit door to your left to find the white exit teleporter.
Other points of interest[edit]
Secrets[edit]
- Open the wall south of the yellow key, which has a different texture to the rest of the room, to find four health bonuses, two boxes of rockets and a box of shotgun shells. (sector 374)
- Go to the south-east room to open four closets containing chaingunners, then go inside the south-eastern closet to see that the north wall has a downward-pointing triangle on it. Press this wall to open a teleporter in the middle of the room which goes to a supercharge. (sector 218)
- In the room south of the starting point, drop down the hole on the west side and press the gargoyle switch here, which will open the bars on the other side of the window allowing you to get an incinerator and three fuel cans. You can reach the items by dropping into the blood pit in the south-west corner of the outdoor area. (sector 345)
- Go through the blue door and follow the walkway until it turns east. There is an alcove with shotgun shells at the turn - open the back wall of the alcove to reveal three rockets and a fuel tank. (sector 82)
- After stepping on the teleporter to the exit door, turn around and lower the wall behind you to find a dark tunnel leading to a megasphere. (sector 127)
