MAP11: MAP12 - The Facility is the eleventh map of Switcheroom 2. It was designed by Travers Dunne (traversd) and uses the music track "Unruly Fortress" by James Paddock (Jimmy). It is based on the layout of MAP12: The Factory.

Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Most of this map consists of several large buildings. You begin in the north-east corner of the map.
Head south to the eastern building and use the lift here to get inside it, then go to the switch at the south end and flip it to lower the wall blocking your path; imps will rise from the pits on either side as you approach the switch, and pulling it will also lower a wall behind you holding Hell knights. Once the wall has lowered, follow the walkways past some arachnotrons to the west side of the central building, drop into the nukage pit and collect the radiation shielding suit here, then drop down another floor to enter the central building. Go east to a gray block, which marks the center of the building, then follow the nukage south and west to find the blue keycard being overlooked by an arachnotron. Now follow the nukage all the way east to another radiation suit, then go north and east to climb out and face one or two mancubi next to some barrels. Go south and west from here to find a chaingunner protecting the yellow keycard.
Go back to the gray block and open the south-west door, which requires the blue key, then follow the trail of armor bonuses to a plasma gun; the floor will drop away to reveal some imps and shotgun guys, along with a blue teleporter that you take you outside the building. Go to the northern building and enter it, then take the berserk pack in front of you before opening the next door (requiring the yellow key) to enter the final arena; the door will close behind you. Picking up the plasma gun and ammo in this room will lower four of the surrounding blocks to reveal various monsters, and stepping on those blocks will lower some of the other blocks. When all the blocks have lowered, flip the four switches hidden behind the blocks to open the doors on the east side of the room, releasing more monsters, then flip the switch behind the doors to end the level.
Other points of interest[edit]
One of the blocks in the exit room has a red keycard on it; this key is optional, but is needed to reopen the entrance door so you can return to the rest of the level. The key's presence is a nod to the original MAP12: The Factory, where a design error made it impossible to open the entrance door from the inside as no red key was present in that level.
Secrets[edit]
- Head west from the start and to the armor. Lower the computer wall there to get a partial invisibility. (sector 251)
- In the south building, head to the south-east end and flip the switch to lower the block. Stand on it and ride up. Go to the rock wall to the east and open it to get to a rocket launcher. (sector 124)
- In the main building, enter the north-west section and at the south end, there is a switch to the south. Flip it and head to the west side of the area to see a lift lowering. Take it up to get a BFG9000. (sector 206)
