MAP11: Shattered Valley is the eleventh map of Hexen Upstart Mapping Project. It was designed by Shades and uses the music track "Hall" by Kevin Schilder.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Head forward and kill any approaching ettins and afrits, then walk south to a broken bridge over a pit. Jump to the east side of the bridge to find a slaughtaur guarding fléchettes, green mana and a falcon shield (also watch out for a green chaos serpent that can blast you from behind), then pull the minotaur switch here to open a door above you. Now jump over to the west side of the bridge with the serpent, then leap south-east to reach some stepped rocks with artifacts on them. Climb the steps to the top to get dragonskin bracers and a Mystic Ambit Incant, then jump down to the upper level of the broken bridge and proceed through the door you just opened to find ettins, afrits and brown chaos serpents guarding a fountain with (depending on player class) the Hammer of Retribution, firestorm or Arc of Death on it.

Head through the door in the north-east corner to confront some slaughtaurs and stalkers, then head north through another door to enter a hallway with more slaughtaurs and afrits. Pull the minotaur switch at the end of the hallway to lower it so you can reach a second hallway with more of the same enemies, then pull another minotaur switch at the east end of this hallway to clear your path to a teleporter leading to the west side of the map. Kill two or three approaching brown serpents then go through the doorway in the east wall and head up the steps to confront some ettins and slaughtaurs on a gray walkway. Follow the walkway round until you see a brown serpent through two windows on your left, kill it then press the face switch it was guarding - you will see spikes lowering through the grate behind the switch.

Return to the walkway and drop through any of the east windows to get back to the starting area, then head south and west past the spikes you just lowered to get the horn key (this will be needed in MAP10: The Stagnum Ignis). Return to the starting point and head through the portal here to return to MAP02: Garden of Torture.

Other points of interest[edit]

On the covered walkway near the end of the map, follow it all the way round to find an Amulet of Warding on a wooden platform. From here you can jump north to a rocky ledge where a brown serpent guards Discs of Repulsion, then east to another ledge with a mystic urn.
