MAP12: Problematic Conditions is the twelfth map of Plutonia 1024: The Plutinya Experiment. It was designed by Justin Kelly (Breezeep) and uses the music track "Demons on the Prowl", originally created by John Weekley (PRIMEVAL) for Plutonia: Revisited Community Project. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 2:30.

Essentials[edit]

Avoid making noise for as long as possible when the level starts; there is a cyberdemon behind you, and revenants will teleport to the starting point once you wake up the monsters. Take the super shotgun and armor in front of you then go down the west steps and turn right at the bottom to get outside, where two mancubi and one or two Hell knights are standing guard. Flip the switch between the knights to lower a set of bars to the west and head through them, noting two or three revenants that teleport in behind you, then turn right and head towards a switch requiring the blue keycard. Flip a second switch on your right to lower a lift, which you can ride up to find the yellow keycard.

Drop down to the ground then head to the east side of the map and open the yellow bars here to confront two mancubi and up to five revenants (the nearby metal bars will also lower when you do this). Head west until you reach a brown barricade then flip the switch on your left to lower a second lift, which you can ride up to get the rocket launcher and the blue key. Drop down to the ground and return to the west side of the map, slay any revenants that have teleported in (plus an arch-vile on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare skill levels) then flip the switch you saw earlier to open the barricade and reach the exit teleporter.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Head north from the start to the yellow bars, then press the white light fixture to your right to reveal a skull switch. Press this switch then return to the starting point and head west down some more steps, then look left to see a second light fixture with another switch. Press the second switch then go back to where the first switch was to find that another switch has appeared next to it, which teleports you to the area behind the starting point; you will telefrag the cyberdemon in the process and find a medikit. (sector 12)
