MAP12: Stagnant Depot is the twelfth map of Claustrophobia 1024 2. It was designed by Justin Murphy (KingKill33) and Joonas Äijälä (Jodwin), and uses a MIDI rendition of "The Perfect Drug" by Nine Inch Nails as its music track.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Step forward and turn left to see one or two imps guarding a shotgun, then open the door behind them to enter a junction with more imps as well as zombiemen. Go down the north steps to kill more monsters, then open the door ahead to get outside and face a crowd; on Hurt Me Plenty skill level or higher you can find a chainsaw in the water, and on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare the armor in the south-east corner is replaced with a megaarmor. Go to the door in the north-east corner and flip the neighboring switch to open it, then fight your way through some zombies and imps to a lift and pull the thin switch on the west wall to go down to a cavern, where yet more imps are blocking your path to the red keycard. Watch out for the shotgun guy and imps that teleport behind you when you take the key.

Go back outside and open the bronze door in the north-west corner to enter a small room with a spectre and shotgun guy/chaingunner, then press the "LOCKED" panel on the south wall before going back to the junction near the starting point, where the west door has opened to reveal more zombies and imps. Walk through the north passage, which will close a set of bars behind you, then go round the corner to find the blue keycard sitting on some crates. Kill the monsters that teleport in, pull the nearby switch on the north wall to re-open the bars then go back outside and open the blue bars on the south side - as you step through them, a closet with a chaingun will open to your left and demons will teleport in. Press the button to lower a lift, ride it up then follow the ledge round to a panel for the red key.

Pressing the panel will open a closet in the room below and allow multiple zombies and/or imps to teleport in. Go back up the steps to the junction and press the button that has been revealed on the opposite wall, which will open a door to the west, then go through it and turn right to descend some steps that lead down to a door - the door requires the yellow key to open, but approaching it will lower a stack of crates at the top of the steps and allow you to collect the key hidden behind them. Kill the demons that appear near the aforementioned door, then press the panel next to that door to open it and reveal a spectre, as well as a storage yard with imps and shotgun guys (one or two revenants are also hiding the crates on HMP or higher). Flip the switch hidden behind the north-west crate to open the door behind you, then step out to some train tracks and fight your way past some imps, demons and zombies to reach a tunnel where the level will end.

Other points of interest[edit]

Near the blue key is a stack of crates holding a megaarmor. This stack lowers when you climb the steps leading to the yellow key.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Once you've grabbed the red key, step onto the lift you used to get here and immediately flip the switch to go up. The big computer screen in this room will have opened temporarily to reveal a button, press it quickly before the screen closes again. This will open a secret closet at the opposite end of the map in the south-west corner, in the same area where you can get the yellow key. The closet contains a plasma gun, but be careful as the floor inside it is damaging. (sector 1329)
  2. In the room with the crates past the yellow door, open the wall to the left of the big brown crate to reveal a secret lift. Lower it for a partial invisibility, along with an imp guarding it. (sector 1526)
