MAP12: The Farm is the twelfth map of Into Sandy's Cities. It was designed by GermanPeter.

Walkthrough[edit]

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

There is a shotgun and a box of shells across the courtyard from you, but watch out for the arachnotron (HMP, UV, and NM) and mancubi (UV and NM) in the courtyard, too. Enter the building to your left, then kill the imps and Hell knights (you can get secret #1 in this building). Exit this building, then go behind the large building. Kill the arachnotron and demons here with your new rocket launcher, then enter the building to the east. Grab the chainsaw, the box of bullets, the box of shells, and the box of rockets here, then pull the switch. Exit, but watch out for the two mancubi that are released from structures to the north. If you can lure them out, there is a partial invisibility and two stimpacks behind the west-most one, and an invulnerability behind the other one.

Grab the blue skull key, then enter the large building at its southern end. Clear out all of the former humans, cacodemon(s), the revenant, imps, and a baron of Hell. Go to the north-east room (watch out for the spectre, lower the lift, and step onto the teleporter. You will be teleported to the western-most part of the map, so kill all of the enemies on this platform, then watch out for the pain elemental, cacodemons, and lost souls that are released when you grab the red key. Work your way back through the tunnels back to the starting area, but watch out for the number of demons, imps, and an arch-vile on HMP and harder that are released. There is also a soul sphere you can grab. Open the red door, then step on the platform to exit the level.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Enter the building west of the start and flip the rightmost switch and the leftmost two switches to open the bars to the door to the south. Open it to get a rocket and a rocket launcher. (sector 13)
  2. On that building's west side is a switch. Flip it, then go all the way to the northeast end of the farm, finding a switch on the east side of that building. Press this switch, go towards the main building, and at the southeast side of the building is a hole with a teleporter. (sector 32)
  3. Take the teleporter in secret #2 into a maze section full of demons and spectres. Go to the northwest end to find a switch, then go to the northeast end to get a plasma gun. (sector 141)
  4. Enter the northwesternmost house, then open the east wall to get a box of rockets, a backpack, and a computer area map. (sector 137)
  5. Enter the main building, open the left door, then immediately open the wall with skulls to the north to get a super shotgun and a box of shotgun shells. (sector 79)
  6. Enter the main building and open the right door. There will be a shelf with a medikit and a megaarmor that you can lower. (sector 4)
