Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
Use caution around the nukage pits in this level, as most of them are inescapable if you fall in.
Exit the vent then go round the corner to see three shotgun guys (or shocktroopers on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM) skill levels) guarding a door. Go through the door and fight past some more shocktroopers to the red door at the south end, then go up the nearby steps and collect the chaingun and red keycard on the west side of the room; this will open the circular nukage-fall to reveal a pack of ghouls, which are joined by cacodemons on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or pain elementals on UV and NM. Kill all the enemies, then open the red door to find a super shotgun and take it to trigger an ambush by imps, shotgun guys and two Hell knights, barons of Hell, or vassagos. Once the ambush is cleared, flip the switch in the north-east alcove to open the next door.
The next room is I-shaped and contains a number of circular silos that hold cacodemons, plus imps on HMP or shocktroopers on UV and NM. Use the incinerator in the middle of the room to help you kill them, then go through the north-west door and follow the hallway down to a room containing an invulnerability; taking it will trigger an ambush by up to eight arch-viles. Continue north to a wide room overlooked by mancubi and ghouls, then go through the door at the north end and go to the middle of the next room to find the blue keycard. Kill the arch-viles that are revealed at both ends of the room, then open the door opposite the blue key (which contains one or three more arch-viles on HMP or higher) to find a megaarmor and a switch. Flip the switch to open the doors on either side, slay the Hell knights (or revenants on HMP or higher) that teleport in then go through the south-eastern door to escape.
In the next room, you will need to collect the rocket launcher in the center to unlock the next door; once you do, quickly kill the two mancubi standing on the nukage-falls on either side, then go through the southern door that opens to get a supercharge and avoid being surrounded by revenants (plus shocktroopers on HMP or higher). Open a second door behind the supercharge to get back to the I-shaped room, then open the blue door in the middle of this room to find a calamity blade and fuel tanks; this weapon will help you kill a pack of cacodemons that are waiting behind the east wall, as well as some revenants that are released from a hallway behind you. Open the door at the end of this hallway, then go round a corner and open a second door to find four mancubi guarding a yellow keycard.
Approaching the key will teleport you to a large marble arena where you will be pitted against large waves of monsters; the calamity blade is essential here. Leave the starting platform to raise two groups of imps (this is a good opportunity to get the Screen Wipe achievement), then drop into the pits on the east and west sides to find a skull switch; pressing each switch will releases some cacodemons, then the floor of the pit will rise and you will need to deal with more monsters that are released around you, including arch-viles on HMP or higher and mindweavers on UV and NM. Once both switches are pressed, go to the northern platform and press a third skull switch here to lower it and get the yellow keycard, then use the calamity blade to slay a large group of vassagos that rise from the nukage. Once the path is clear, go to the pentagram at the north end of the arena to teleport back to the previous room.
Go east through two yellow doors and head round a corner to the exit door, pass through it then flip the switch ahead to go down to a large bridge. Cross the bridge to enter a circular arena with eight cyberdemons, kill all of them using the items provided to open the elevator in the center then press any of the buttons inside it to finish the level.

Secrets[edit]
- In the room with the super shotgun, press the button in the south-east corner to lower a lift in the south-west alcove. Ride this lift up into a vent and push past two spectres to get a berserk pack. (sector 993)
- In the wide room south of the blue key, go through the north-eastern door to get a supercharge. (sector 897)
