Essentials[edit]

Turn left (west) as the level begins to enter a low tunnel and follow it until you see some shotgun guys ahead. Head up the steps on your right then go straight forward to another set of steps, turning left at the top to see some imps (plus a cacodemon on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) skill level or higher) guarding a "LOCK" panel that you can press to open a door below. Go back down the steps and turn right at the bottom to get to the door you just opened, go through then enter the hallway on your right to see a Hell knight ahead; it will teleport three times and end up behind the door you just walked through. Go down the stairs in the next room to find a backpack before walking straight forward to a rocket launcher overlooked by imps, then follow the valley east and north until you pass an acid pool and go up some steps to a gray platform. Head west into a curved passage and be ready to kill an arch-vile waiting at the other end, then turn right and right again to reach a junction with a red floor; continue west past a red key door, then turn left and left again to see the red keycard being guarded by revenants.

Approaching the red key will release another arch-vile behind you - kill it then go back to the red key door you passed and open it to enter a room with imps, demons and shotgun guys (plus chaingunners on HMP or higher). Head west through an archway and follow the red path to a lift with a couple of imps on it, then activate this lift and ride it up to a door that leads to a fenced catwalk; watch out for imps and cacodemons waiting outside, as well as mancubi on HMP or higher. Follow the catwalk and follow it west to a doorway leading to a room with arachnotrons and demons (plus three knights on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare), then head through the south door (requiring the red key) to enter a hallway with a "LOCK" panel - this requires the yellow key and will allow you to reach the exit later. Head round the corner, killing a waiting arch-vile on HMP or higher, then press the button here to activate a lift leading to an outdoor storage area with some mancubi. Go through the doorway in the south-west corner and follow the steps down to an acid pool, run across it to a staircase then climb up and turn left to see an arrow button on the wall ahead that is guarded by revenants. Press the button to lower the lift on the east side of the pool, ride it up then turn right to see the blue keycard ahead.

Follow the passage behind the blue key to get back to the outdoor storage area, then open the blue key door at the north end and drop down the hole in front of you - use caution as demons and mancubi are waiting ahead, along with imps and/or revenants on overhead ledges. Go up the stairs and enter the doorway in the north-east corner to reach an area with an acid stream, which you can follow to find the yellow keycard in an alcove along with rockets (plus a megasphere on I'm Too Young To Die (ITYTD) and Hey Not Too Rough (HNTR), or a supercharge on HMP). Taking the key will cause a pack of revenants and imps to teleport to the acid stream - fight past them to get back to the previous area, then go down the large stairs and turn left (east) at the bottom to see a yellow key door that you can open to return to the room with the red key door. Go through that door again and press the "LOCK" panel you passed earlier to open the bars next to it, revealing the exit switch.

Other points of interest[edit]

Turn right as the level starts, then push past a couple of zombiemen to find a chaingun.

After passing through the first door head straight forward to reach a balcony with an armor, which is guarded by one or two mancubi on HMP or higher. There will also be a super shotgun behind you which is protected by zombies and a revenant.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the top of the first set of steps in the level, press the north-west wall with caution stripes to lower it and reveal a switch. Flipping the switch lowers the high wall up the next flight of stairs, revealing a chainsaw (plasma gun on ITYTD and HNTR) and a medikit. (sector 48)
  2. Walk south past the chamber holding the red key, then look east to see a recessed computer panel. Pressing this panel opens a wall to the north, revealing a narrow tunnel leading to a supercharge. (sector 384)
  3. In the room with the acid pool that leads to the blue key, there is a "LOCK" panel on the far side of a pillar near the fenced-in revenants. Pressing this switch lowers a wall in the outdoor storage area, revealing a large secret room full of zombies and revenants, as well as a megasphere (ITYTD and HNTR) or supercharge (HMP or higher), health and ammo. (sector 175)
