MAP14: House of Shadows is the fourteenth map of Congestion 1024. It was designed by Jeffrey Graham (psyren) and uses the music track "Track 15" from Metaltech: Earthsiege.

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.


At the start, follow the path, past the blue door to find a door. Continue, at the next intersection go right and keep going until you find a switch. Flip it then backtrack a bit and open the door in front. Proceed forwards, ignore the red door for now and enter the door nearby. Go down the stairs and face right: press the switch to the right, lowering the blue key then ride the lift in front. Go straight ahead and you'll be by the blue door again. Open it and follow the path until you reach an intersection. Go forward and make a hairpin turn to the right to find a switch. The wall to your right will lower revealing the red key and a door further to the right. Open the door and proceed through the strobing light corridors, minding the crushers. At the intersection go forward and turn right to reach the red door again. Enter it and you'll spot some platforms perpetually rising and lowering. Drop into the blood pit to your left and ride the last platform to reach the stairs leading to the exit teleporter.

Other points of interest[edit]


  1. Before crossing a tiny blood pool in the western part of the map, there is a lift with a heavy weapon dude south of it. After dealing with him, press the part of the eastern wall that has a triangle sign to reveal a super shotgun. (sector 171)
  2. In the area with the red key and a partial invisibility, press a part of the western wall near a box of shotgun shells to reveal a supercharge and a light amplification visor (only on Hey, not too rough skill level or lower). (sector 172)
  3. After you exit the red key area through the southeastern door, as you walk through the corridor, you will eventually notice a wall on your left (west) that looks the same as the one from Secret #1. Press it to reveal a megaarmor. (sector 174)
