Walkthrough[edit]
Essentials[edit]
At the start, enter the teleporter in front then go up the stairs ahead in the new area to collect the red key on the left. Turn right, then enter the room ahead and go around the central structure. Follow the eastern wing, then climb up the stairs and flip the red switch in front. Return to the western wing, then go down the stairs to your right and enter the teleporter in front. Jump to the teleporter ahead to reach the interior of the central structure. Press the switch to the left, then drop down from the central structure and move to the south. In the southeastern corner of this area are some stairs leading to the yellow key. Grab it then move to the north, going up both sets of stairs. Follow the path, go down the stairs and open the yellow bars to unlock the exit teleporter.
Other points of interest[edit]
Secrets[edit]
- After taking the teleporter at the start of the map, there's a barely noticeable set of stairs leading to the water to the left of the stairs ahead of you (southwest of these). As you're about to drop down, you'll end up teleported to a small area, similar to the starting one. (sector 159) There, you will find two energy cells (or one energy cell and one energy cell pack on skills 1-2), two medikits (or three on skill 3), three boxes of rockets (or four on skill 3 and five on skills 1-2), a megaarmor (or an invulnerability on skills 1-2), three stimpacks (or two on skills 1-3), five boxes of shotgun shells and three boxes of bullets. Use the teleporter in this area to be taken to where the red switch is.
- The platform with the yellow key and a plasma gun counts as a secret, and it cannot be skipped. (sector 96)
- The pedestal with a soulsphere in secret #2 also counts as one. (sector 97)
Bugs[edit]
There are several places where the player can get stuck:
- If the arch-vile launches a player into the middle body of water surrounded by walls (sector 142), they will be stuck. The outer body of water, in contrast, is safe to land in, as it can be escaped by means of a camouflaged staircase at the entrance to secret #1.
- If the player steps onto an edge of the teleport pad at the very start of the map and runs through a window, they will be stuck. There are teleport triggers on the outer rim of this outside area meant to place the player back within bounds, but they are on the walls instead of in the playable area, making them impossible to cross and therefore useless.
- As secret #1 is largely a copied start, the same applies in this area; the player can step onto an edge of the teleport pad and run through a window to get stuck, though it is harder to do as the pad is further from the windows.
