MAP15: Colosseum is the fifteenth map of Anomaly Report. It was designed by Michael Jan Krizik (valkiriforce) and uses the music track "The Wind," originally composed by Mark Klem for Memento Mori. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 4:10.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

You begin in the north-eastern square, facing a building that contains four skull switches; these switches will open four buttons on the outside of the building, which will lower teleporters to the rest of the map. Go inside the building and collect the weapons inside it, press the switch in the south-western corner to summon a group of demons, then go back outside and use the lift by the western entrance to go to the ledge above, where you can press the first button to lower the south-western teleporter. Enter the teleporter to go to the southern area and step over the tall bars in front of you to enter a blood room, then kill the shotgun guy ahead before collecting the blue skull key it was guarding. Enter the chamber behind the key and press the lion switch at the west end to open four closets in the blood room containing four spectres and (depending on skill level) demons, cacodemons or revenants, then press the gargoyle switch inside the north-eastern closet to lower the bars so you can get back to the teleporter.

Back in the square, press the north-west switch inside the building to summon a group of imps, then go outside and use the northern lift to go up to the second button, which will lower the north-west teleporter. Enter the teleporter to go to the cross-shaped platform near the center of the map, where a group of mancubi (plus barons of Hell on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) and a pain elemental on Ultra-Violence (UV) and Nightmare (NM)) are guarding the red skull key in the middle of the cross. After getting the key, kill the demons and Hell knights that teleport in, then stand in the middle of the cross and look east and west to see two gargoyle switches that you can shoot to open a third switch to the south. Shooting the third switch will lower a set of steps that lead up to the blue portal, which will send you back to the hub.

Back in the square, press the north-east switch inside the building to summon a group of knights along with a cyberdemon, then go outside and use the eastern lift to go up to the third button, which will lower the north-east teleporter. Enter the teleporter to go to the south-western area, which contains a lava pit surrounded by a large staircase, then fight past some barons to reach the switch at the top of the staircase and flip it to lower the yellow skull key, which is on the pillar in the center of the pit. After taking the key, fight off the knights (plus revenants on HMP and barons on UV and NM) that teleport in then use the teleporter at the top of the staircase to get back to the hub.

Back in the square, press the south-east switch inside the building (no monsters will appear) then go outside and use the eastern lift to go up to the fourth button, which will lower the south-east teleporter. Enter this teleporter to go to the south-eastern area, which is a cross-shaped platform guarded by cacodemons and/or mancubi, then go up the steps in front of you to another teleporter and deal with the knights (plus an arch-vile on UV and NM) that teleport in to block your path. Enter the teleporter to go to the final area and go north to a tunnel, then follow it past a teleporter (which goes back to the previous area) and enter the sky hole at the east end to end the level and go to MAP16: Wrecking Base.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the starting area, take the west lift up and head to the easternmost end. Lower the wall to get a supercharge. (sector 208)
  2. Take the south-west teleporter in the starting area and open the north metal wall to get to a supercharge. (sector 165)
  3. Lowering the supercharge in secret #2 will lower a wall at the top of the steps to the south. Take that lift up to get an armor. (sector 181)
  4. In the red key area, go behind the big portal to get an armor. (sector 112)
  5. Take the south-east teleporter in the starting area, then go to either the left or right pads. Run across them to jump over the walls and land in the pit below, then go to the north end to get a berserk pack and a teleporter to the secret exit. (sector 21)
