You need blue and yellow keys on this level to access both normal and secret exits. The red key is needed to access the rooms where the two other keys are found in each of the rooms.

Red key

Drop into the pit. Collect the items in the cave and keep going into another cave. Killing enemies on your way, carefully search this room until you find grassy stairs at the end. Walk there and press the lion button. This will open the barrier at the west of the cave. Go there and enter the new room where numerous rocket boxes are seen. Once you approach the center of the room where a structure can be seen, the brown pillars will start lowering revealing enemies. After a while, there will be some other enemies. Repulse their attacks until the red key will be accessible behind one of the brown pillars. Then, take the skull key.

Backtrack to the previous cave and return to the entrance of the cave (north) where the red button is. Press the button and the ground will go down revealing revenants and others. Afterwards, go to the south of the cave and you notice two skull switches. If you want yellow key press the switch to your right, and subsequent cave at the southwest will open. If you want the blue key press the left switch to open the north east cave.

Blue key

Once you press the switch to open the north east cave, go there. Walk the stairs up and around the cave and you will meet a switch. Press it. This will unleash crowds but it also unlocks the room with blue key. Go there and using brick sills get to the key and take it. Striking through go to the entrance of the cave and press the skull switch inside the rock wall. Get back to the first switch you pressed and turn right. Use the new teleporter to get back to the fork cave.

Yellow key

Now press the switch to your right in the cave and go to the south west. Enter the cave and notice numerous columns in front of you. Go deep into the column "forest" and press the switch to raise three columns that were lowered at first. Now go out from the "forest" and notice an opening to the left. Go there and you will see a high-ceilinged room with several platform. Jump on them to get forward. Next, there is a similar room. Do the same, jump on the platforms and you will get back to the cave you entered but this time, jump on the columns here to get into a wall carving. Go forward and drop down. Press the switch just in front of you. This will open a room to your right where the key is obtained. Go there and eliminate the enemies and a cyberdemon. After that, walk on the "pyramid" up to the yellow key and get it. Once you drop off, the second portion of the previous cave will be revealed. Go there and if you want secret #1, visit it, anyway use the teleporter which will bring you to the fork cave.

Normal exit

Once both yellow and blue keys collected, in the fork cave, find two skull barriers (east) and open them after one. Enter the portal which will bring you to a room. Walk around the structure in the middle and press the lion switch. The barries will start lowering, and at this time you have to repulse enemies attacks while they spawn in this room. When the bars will be unlocked you can exit. If you want the normal exit go to the portal right ahead. Otherwise, read below.

Secret exit

Instead of going into the exit portal leading to Lost Antiques, turn right or left near the teleporter. You will walk on the sludge that hurts. Walk around the circular building and you will find stairs. Walk up. To access the exit room, you have to press four buttons in any order you want:

  1. Go to the stairs but do not walk them up yet. Turn left and on the beige rock wall there will be the first button. Press it.
  2. Walk up stairs this time and you meet the second button, which is unlike the first one is well noticeable.
  3. Drop down from the stairs. Notice numerous columns in the cave. In front of you is one of the columns. After this column is the other one which hides the third button. Walk behind it and press the button.
  4. At the north east of the cave is the last button on the grey wall. Go to it and press.

After all the four buttons are pressed the secret wall will open (north west) letting you access the secret level, Birds of a Feather.

Other points of interest[edit]

  1. Once you get the yellow key in the south west cave, you will be able to step on the teleporter to get back. Instead, go past the teleporter to the north of the cave and open a darker wall to find a cell charge pack. (sector 437)
  2. In the north eastern cave where the blue key is obtained, there is a darker wall to the east. Open it to find some items behind it. (sector 741)

Routes and tricks[edit]

When you enter the area to get the blue key, there will be a switch on one of the arms of the room. As soon as you activate it, many imps and revenants will spawn as well as a cyberdemon. As the area is not all that open, killing them is near impossible. Instead, run for the other end of the room (you will have to go around the center part to reach the other side of the horseshoe-shaped room) and activate the skull switch in the wall. Immediately run back to where the first switch was and there will be a teleporter just to the right of it. This will get you out of the room and to a place where you can take a few shots at the monsters from cover (if you want to get the kills). Allow the revenants to take out the cyberdemon and clean up what is left. Remember to grab the blue key as you are running in the cave and there is a couple of soulspheres you can get along the way.
