Essentials[edit]

Open the door to enter a water room with some imps, then go east through a second door and pass through a brightly-lit doorway. Straight ahead is a lift that will take you down to a hall with a super shotgun (and a megaarmor on I'm Too Young To Die and Hey Not Too Rough skill levels); when you approach the items, the north and south walls will lower to reveal four staircases. Climb up to the ledges on both sides of the hall and press the buttons on the east walls, then open both doors on each ledge to reveal imps (or Hell knight on Ultra-Violence and Nightmare) guarding more switches that also need to be flipped. Once all six buttons and switches have been used, you can go through the doors at the east end of the hall and follow the corridor to find a cacodemon guarding the blue keycard.

Taking the blue key will lower the lift at the west end of the hall, allowing you to escape; if you miss it, go back to the blue key room to lower it again. After riding the lift up, go through the brightly-lit doorway again then go up the northern steps and follow the corridor round to a lift, which can be lowered using the button on the column opposite it; watch out for two shotgun guys and/or a cacodemon that are waiting on the lift. Ride the lift up, noting the red door in the west wall (it leads to the exit), then follow the corridor round to a room with a chaingun and a switch that will open two doors behind you. Go through the doors to reach a circular corridor and run round to its south end to find another door, which you can open to find imps and zombies guarding a nukage trench. Walk east to some steps that lead up to a button, which will raise a bridge over the nukage, then cross it and press the button on the other side. Return to the circular corridor to find that the center section has opened to reveal a pack of zombies (plus an arch-vile on Hurt Me Plenty (HMP) or higher), then go to the chamber in the middle of this section to find the yellow keycard.

Go back to the chaingun room, where two monster closets have opened, and enter the eastern corridor, which leads to two doors that have buttons next to them. Open the eastern door to find a spectre guarding a lift, then flip the switch inside it to go down to the floor below where some lost souls await. Walk east to a lift that will drop you into a vent with imps, then follow the vent east and south up three lifts to find a set of yellow bars, which you can open to get the red keycard trapped behind them. Drop to the floor below and head west through a door, which leads to a nukage pool guarded by one or two mancubi, then continue north-west through another door to find a lift leading back up to the north end of the map. You can now return to the red door you passed earlier and open it to find two mancubi (or a cyberdemon on HMP or higher) guarding another door. Open the door and step on the lift behind it to finish the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

After getting the blue key, leave the underground hall then walk north until you see a small door on your left. Go through this door, then open the small cupboard in the south-west corner to find a supercharge.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Just north of the lift that leads to the underground hall where the blue key is, open the door just before the north bend for a small room containing four rockets. Open the wall at the end of this small room for a secret passage, allowing you to get lots of ammo, a megaarmor, a backpack and a berserk pack. (sector 548)
  2. Go east from the blue switch to the two doors. Take the one on the lift and use the lift switch to go down to the next area. Here, run across the silver lift (or stay on it until it rises again), then open the wall in the south-east corner to get a megaarmor, a computer area map and partial invisibility. (sector 508)
  3. Once you flip the switch that reveals the yellow key area, go back to the blue switch at the far north end of the facility to find two monster closets open. Enter the closet on the right and open the brown-stained wall to teleport to the building outside. You will find a plasma gun, energy cells, a megaarmor, and stimpacks out here. (sector 539)
  4. In the exit area with the cyberdemon/mancubi, press on either green-stained wall at the north side to reveal a secret area with a supercharge, a BFG9000 and six energy cells. (sector 553)
